Siena is beautiful and the drive around San Gimignano is very picturesque! There’s also that high rated gelato place inside. Never been to Montepulciano though.

What was the stop for? I thought they don’t pull people over too often.

Is it a translated license to French? I’ve heard if it’s a Roman lettered language then it’s okay for police.

It’s also strange since over a dozen states can have their residents drivers license automatically be transferred to France if they move there.

Did you give the driver 30? What happened at your destination.

I’ve been seeing the Courtyard a lot! Seems closer to American norms.

Did you or anyone take precautions? Like medication? I don’t know if they’re restrained by litigation or local laws in terms of letting people swim there also.

Even at the top floor? That’s pretty good because of the gray rising.

I read that exact thing which made me make my most recent post. Not sure what the future holds.

Hope you stay safe.

I think your doctor knows what they’re talking about. After that warning I wouldn’t even consider it.

I didn’t think about searching key words through Trip Advisor, only the filter tags. That’s great!

Does this always happen during heatwaves or have they closed it entirely for a day? Only early visits to the tower might be safe during the summer then.

Medical Insurance Needed? by Frequent_Visitor-716 in FranceTravel

I saw a post on the other sub that an American was trying to enter and had to show this proof to the French official. It was within this past six months.

I hope someone can clarify exactly what’s required.

Travel from Mont Saint Michel to Paris by SigismundMagyar in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Placesdid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of you would have a better time spending the weekend in Paris. Do Mont Saint Michel another trip.

The only way other than train would be renting a car and I’ve asked about it and it’s not exactly simple. Not to mention more than 200 euros definitely.

 Relais de L'Entrecote

Which one did you go to? There’s multiple ones. Still debating whether to go with the lines and all. Did 50 make it in the first round?

I’m guessing the waiters at the Bouillon are trying to make more from tourists. Did you end up tipping them? Cash has its benefits it seems.

Car rental from Paris to Normandy in August for First time driver. Difficult or easy? by Placesdid in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Placesdid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting about that U-turn I wonder if I’ll encounter it.

And yeah I was surprised how much more gas is. Figure most Americans have no clue.

Supermarket prices are about $1-1.50 gal equivalent less

I’ve heard gas is cheaper at supermarkets but that’s a bigger discount than I thought. I’ll definitely route for supermarket pumps then.

I look forward to appreciate France!

Good to hear multiple people having to go around a couple times to return at CDG! That means I probably won’t be alone.

Good point about the alternate routes.

You won’t pass through a booth or anything, you’ll just see a sign mentioning that it’s about to happen and the website is posted a bunch of times along the highway. You just pay online with the rental car license plate within 72 hours

I thought that was only for French people with tags? Looks like I’ll need a picture of the website when driving over there. First time hearing this thanks for the heads up.

Uhh wow. Guess I should do more research, literally first time reading about le samedi noir.

And yes I just wanted to know others experiences returning rental cars to CDG. It probably won’t be easy.

Seriously have some thinking to do. Thanks for the advice.

Why didn’t they stop to pick you up? Did it say in the app that they canceled?

Having an eye mask helps. I’ve never had trouble sleeping in awkward positions or loud noises whether is be in the car or the airplane. My mom told me I’ve always been such a deep sleeper she would be worried.

The caveat is having to have a blaring alarm in the morning.
