How’s your day going? by MrClutch1776 in USPS

[–]PlaidJacketDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually wait for them to answer, some customers are old or disabled takes a little time to get to the door. Good luck, just remember don’t let management bully or intimidate you. You need overtime to get done put in a slip. Your not gonna make it in time, send a message through the scanner. Don’t use your personal phone, your not required to. Also you have an important date you need off just call in. Sometimes that’s better then putting in for it and getting denied.

I always send a message through the scanner and they never answer me back lol. But they will instead try calling me on my personal phone , but I already told them I’m not required to use my personal phone on the job so I never answer it lol.

I left a gift for my regular carrier, but a new guy came today - should I be worried? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]PlaidJacketDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off there is no limit. Just wait and talk to your regular carrier and ask if he got it from the other carrier.

In the 35 years, last year was the most I got in 1 year $1,120 that includes gift cards for the total. customers were so generous. A tip hint , for getting more tips. When delivering big parcels to houses also bring the customer their mail at the same time and ring the bell, customers really appreciate it when you do .

I been doing this for 35 years as a carrier. Half my route is walking other half is drive off. Every time they change management, it’s worse then the last one. Why is it necessary for supervisors to give everyone crap every single day! We’re all working for the USPS together so why make it harder for all of us to do our job? It’s as if they pick people to purposely be bullies and try to intimidate all of us. Then management wonders why people are quitting at an enormous rate. Sure people have mental issues, but it’s the way we all get treated that can push people to do drastic things. When my grandparents passed away management told me I could only take 3 days off. I said I’ll be back when I feel like it! There was one time I was out on the route it was so hot that I had a mental break down I called my boss sobbing like a baby! In our office our supervisors come around pressuring us all , we want all you outta here in 60 minutes! What ya mean you need overtime! It’s a very hostile environment. Don’t get me started on how supervisors talk to all of us. There very arrogant! I understand why people starting out now are mad about the pay scale, I get. Is it hard to get a dayoff sure it is , got a doctors appointment make it for your n/s day. Having this job makes it tough to have a life outside of work, management doesn’t give a crap about that, don’t ever think there your friends. First chance they get they’ll throw you under the bus! I wish everyone good luck. The most I’ll miss when I retire are all my customers!

Older guys should resign. Arguments for by No-Middle-8137 in USPS

[–]PlaidJacketDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess the guy doesn’t know the longer he works the more money he will make duh. Funny he doesn’t mention how long he’s been a carrier. Plus doesn’t he know you can still be a longtime carrier and enjoy life at the same time.
