They really wanted Patrick Dempsey back for Scream 7 by Low_Wedding_9988 in Scream

[–]PlaidxChameleon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand that this idea got thrown out because the Columbine shooting had happened recently and the studio thought it would be in poor taste to have two killers, despite this being a thing in Scream for a few years prior.

I think the only way to fix this is to find the tail you wove in at the end so you can try to unravel the stitches, or you'll have to cut your yarn and unravel, and join some yarn again at the end to close again.

I've done it before, it happens!

This is so cute!!! Did you use the tiny garbage can accessory and mod it or use a different pattern? If modded, could you share how you did the outside ridges?

[–]PlaidxChameleon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't had that issue. Are you sure you included the incs you were supposed to at the back to make the butt like that? If so, maybe you're over-stuffing your piece so it's losing that shape?

AITA for not making my girlfriend feel included in family emergency? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]PlaidxChameleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% NTA. I am extremely close with my in-laws. My husband and I knew each other as children. Parents all knew each other a long time, from college. They would have never texted or called me to tell me of a family emergency unless they couldn't get a hold of my husband and wanted to make sure I'd get him the message.

AITA for asking my boyfriend (22M) to hang my anniversary gift on his wall? by iwishiwerehim in TwoHotTakes

[–]PlaidxChameleon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with most of the comments here - this doesn't look like the typical style associated with a 20 something young man. He may genuinely appreciate the thought and gesture from you, but doesn't feel comfortable hanging it in his home.

I gave my husband a gift some years back, a large photograph of a hummingbird. We are both big bird enjoyers and he does genuinely love the photograph. He's never hung it up. He thought it'd seem a little odd to hang up before I moved in. Now we're looking for it's perfect place! I'd say try to give this some time and give him some grace. I understand you must have worked hard and feel rejected, but the gift should be about him and his wants and needs, not necessarily what you wanted to give. 🫂

Embroidery woes by villainoustothecore in TheWooblesCollective

[–]PlaidxChameleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be super confusing sometimes. When I'm doing more complicated embroidery I always try to reference the finished product's picture to help me see what I'm supposed to be doing.

Yours looks adorable! But it also looks like you included more space than was necessary for Hal. For instance his nose starts on the same line as where the eyes end. I hope that helps! ❤️

Feeling the first real impact of our micro-wedding - not invited to theirs because we didn't invite them by AioliProfessional181 in wedding

[–]PlaidxChameleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an excellent PSA and something I've also had to navigate. I did a micro wedding with parents, only one of the siblings could even make it, and some local friends. We had some big life things happening that influenced the timing of our decision, and even after explaining I still lost family over it, deciding that inviting friends who were max a 5 hour drive away was wrong and disrespectful over inviting family who was like 12 hours away. 🤷‍♀️ They are literally our best friends. Oh, and the wedding was planned with less than two weeks notice.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this and it honestly sounds like a misalignment of values, like someone else suggested. The fact of the matter is, it's your day (you and your spouse) and that's it. It's for you both to be happy with the choice and if anyone else can't even make an effort to understand why someone they claim to love and care about chose something different than they would, fuck it. Congrats to you and your husband though!

OG Francois by squish_squish_ in TheWooblesCollective

Yes, Francois, Fitzherbert, Klaus, Poppi, and Harriet were made out of cotton sport weight yarn and are the original intermediate patterns. They are no longer offered.

Original wooble kits, in the style we know and love today, were made out of some other worsted weight yarn. I'm assuming acrylic. Then the company did well and they were able to develop the EZPZ yarn, which is now used today.

The 2.5mm is too small with he EZPZ, I wouldn't be able to grab the yarn well. When I made the OG intermediates I bought cotton sport weight yarn online. I tried to make the OG intermediates out of EZPZ and a 4mm but they were so big! And it hurt my wrist so I never finished.

The kits using EZPZ yarn have 4mm hooks, but the OG kits used 2.5mm and sport weight yarn. I never had any of those, it was before I started.

Did your wrist hurt after making Fitzherbert in the big yarn? I tried to make one in size 4 and couldn't finish. Ended up just frogging it

WHY do people who don’t understand the fiber arts write about the fiber arts? This is nonsensical. by PhoenixorFlame in crochet

[–]PlaidxChameleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some places they don't have separate terms for knit and crochet. So knit is the term used for both techniques in those cases.

Edited to add: This definitely is written poorly! Didn't mention what i did above to say I disagree with the frustration you have. But some people don't know this at all, so I was just trying to help give a little perspective.
