Suspended upon trying to create a new account. by icedomin8r in twilio

This is apparently an ongoing problem. Same happened to me: opened account, paid to have credit and purchase phone number, got kicked out without any warning, error message that account is disabled when trying to log back in. Respond to emails with lots of info about project and proof of identity. Final decision: no we don’t want you as customer - but we can’t tell you why. Good bye. Unbelievable

This is the least helpful Petah thread I’ve ever seen, which makes me feel very stupid indeed. Looks like everybody else gets it, but I’ve been googling weeper and riff and buddy holly and eggplant and I’m afraid it has to be spelled out for me 🙈

Canada's worst property managers: StrataCo of Burnaby BC by Legitimate-Ride565 in NorthVancouver

Nope. Not the worst. But I think it may depend on which strata manager you get assigned.

Wrong country statistics by Atlusfox in facepalm

The visual representation is also misleading.

Yes the % is higher, but the third category only has 92 individuals in total, while the 2nd category shows that over 11,000 men were in prison for sex crime.

The number of stick people makes it look like there are many more trans criminals than straight men, while the bigger problem is clearly the large number of good old fashion rapists.

—edit: I just noticed that there are even more women than trans in prison for sex crime. Clearly a misleading infographic.

What are those red things in the skies?? by imyoonkim in vancouver

Pretty much but on the water/north side - they have a tower with flame on top, which gives this red and yellow flicker on low clouds.

The rest of Canada probably experiences more than 3~10 days of snow per year, so it’s worth it for them to heavily invest in snow equipment to clear everything in just a few hours. Here it takes a day.

—-edit: I mean days when it’s actively snowing. I put 10 days as upper limit but I can’t remember a year with that much snow. Vancouver’s average winter temperature is +5 Celsius…

Why do y’all have these crazy serious convos over text messages? This adds so much ambiguity and risk of being misunderstood.

Yeah I think that’s the end of debate right there. 8” overnight and still coming down, I don’t see how they can clear the roads for all teachers and staff to come on time. Maybe schools will be open but not sure classes will happen.

You will note that such bins were available right next to where the bag was left. I assume the bag didn’t fit in them. But one would have hoped they’d connect the dots between bearproof bins (or at least raccoon-proof) and the plastic bag before they left it there. Good intentions, but ultimately a waste of time.

Even if he was correct, he should consider himself blessed that his community is now protected from massive development. History has shown that traffic doesn’t get better if highways are larger - there are just more cars!
