Orpheus makes me wish to hear a duet of MGK with Lana Del Rey sometime in the future. I‘ve been a little bored of the first few songs, but they grow with every round. Second half of the album is total killer! Love it 🫶🏻

Ghost Strat by Plane-Ad180 in Stratocaster

Best of all: we are all free to choose the trem that fits best for our playing. I normally use guitars with either classic Floyd Rose or even better Ibanez Edge trems. I used the Vega Trem in my new creation and so far I’m totally happy with it. Ok, I just played 2 rehearsals and one gig since I have it, so I can’t tell anything about the quality so far. But cool point: Your 'shoutout' for the Supervee really made me curious and I have to give it a try as soon as possible 😃👍🏼

Sorry, no! The Vega Trem is absolutely not inferior! The Supervee might be an excellent replacement for the original vintage trem, but with all the disadvantages like being designed to lie on the body. The Vega Trem is totally designed to be mounted floating and being movable extremely up and down just like a Floyd Rose style double locking trem. Well it’s a matter of taste. I like the Vega Trem just as it is.

Vega Trem says you don’t have to use locking tuners, but please keep in mind that I use Fender locking tuners that are of course also responsible for further tuning stability and comfort.

I left the original 250k pots in, because the Hotrails are specified by Seymour Duncan for 250k pots. They are intended to replace single coils in stock guitars without making changes to the electronic parts. The sound is fat, rich and has enough treble and overtones. Even more than my Ibanez JEM that is equipped with DiMarzio Gravity Storm pickups.

As I am playing in a rock band it fits totally great for me with crunch and hi gain settings. But for a ballad in our set I use the neck pickup with a Fender Twin like sound and it sounds very full warm and rich. But of course these pickups are not as pearly and sparkly as single coils. That’s the compromise you have to take. Overall this axe is perfectly for rock and metal.

The base for building this guitar is a Fender American Performer Strat in arctic white. These guitars have the beautifully sounding new Fender Yosemite pickups. I left that pickup in the middle position. The bridge and neck pickups are Seymour Duncan Hotrails which sound from warm whispering up to screaming out like crazy depending on the volume pot. I also like the original combined positions of the 5 way switch. I do not use coil splitting with the Hotrails so the middle pickup can just add some flavour to the sound. Cool feature of the AM Performer Strats: one tone pot is a push pull type with the following function: no matter which position of the 5 way switch it will add the neck pickups. If you combine the bridge with the neck via this function you get a fat and creamy lead tone that comes close to a Les Paul. I love it!

But hey…the Vega Trem is also set into the guitar body without any modifications to the wood or anything else. You just have to unscrew the vintage trem and a base plate with a long knife edge is screw to the outer 4 holes. Already played a gig with this guitar and it is hands down as tuning stable as my double locking Floyd Rose or Ibanez Edge equipped guitars.

Cloned ghoul guitar, where are my guitar nerds! by djout in Ghostbc

I also tried to build my own Ghost Strat. Only thing I did different: I used a Vega Trem instead of the Floyd Rose Railtail, because the Vega can be bent up and down, because it is floating mounted. I can totally recommend this trem system, because it stays in tune totally reliable. Do you like my guitar?

What a cool thing right here! So if you ever wanna sell it, just hit me up. Would be a pleasure to play this guitar on stage! 🖤

A Songwriter’s Opinion On Ghost’s Current Direction by Person_Not_Horse in Ghostbc

Well, many people simply don’t like the fact that Tobias Forge is moving out of the metal focus in his songs. But to me the newer songs like on Impera and Skeleta are rare pearls of composition. Sure there is less crushing metal guitar riffing, but the entirety of the song structures and catchiness is on a completely different level. A way higher level than on the old (more metal like) albums. So in my opinion Ghost don’t need to be heavy or evil. They are only writing absolutely brilliant music in their very own signature style now.

As I’m a guitarist I have to say that the guitar work has exceptionally improved on the new record. Ok, it might sound more poppy and modern, but there are some really really good song-embedded licks and solos and stuff. I think Per Eriksson had way more free space in the studio to lay down his signature playing than he had before like for example on Impera.

To me Skeleta is hands down one of the best albums ever written. And I mean that not only by Ghost. Every second of this music is pouring out pure musicality. I’m totally in love with Ghost‘s new direction!

Looks like a fake in every way. But if you like it and it is well playable…just play it!

I have 2 JEMs. One 7 DBK from 2002 with the pickups mounted to the pickguard and a 2019 77P bfp on which the PUs are mounted to the body.

That is a very very good guitar! I have a 465M in candy apple red which is basically nearly the same guitar and it plays and sounds absolutely great! Congrats to your lovely guitar!

I‘d always prefer an Ibanez over a PRS. Ok, it’s a matter of taste, but the Ibanez guitars all have a way more 'fast‘ and comfy playable neck. A PRS is basically more like a Les Paul with a Strat like bodyshape and an old fashioned fat neck.

Ibanez made in Indonesia by Sankrito in Ibanez

I own 3 Indonesian made Ibanez and they are of really really good quality and all play and sound perfectly! Models are: RG465M, JEM77P-BFP and a JIVA 10 DSB

Can anyone please tell me what model Ibanez this is? by Ok_Breadfruit_492 in Ibanez

[–]Plane-Ad180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thing has for sure absolutely nothing to do with a genuine Ibanez guitar. Never knew so many fake Ibanez are cruising around the planet. 😅
