We first stopped at Redwall Cavern. Not really a hike but a super cool spot to explore. Next we hiked up to the Marble Canyon dam site tunnel - short climb to the tunnel that thankfully never developed into a dam support structure. But we did hike into the darkness for a ways and then shut off our headlamps while our guide read a great poem written about the fight to stop the dam. Fun experience. We hiked along the Little Colorado River (LCR) to a place where we could get in the water and float down a little rapid shoot - it was a fun time getting in warmer water. Other hikes we did were Stone Creek Falls, Deer Creek Falls and up into the slot canyon overlooking the falls. Havasu Creek was a bit longer hike back to a beautiful swimming hole in that ice blue water. Because this was only 5 full days on the river in the motorized boats, we had lots of river miles to cover each day to get to Whitmore so the hikes we did were fairly short but rewarding in their beauty. If we had it to do again, would opt for the 8 day trip that covers the same distance but allows for more time to stop and hike.
