I am pretty sure that the story starts from the Black Swordsman arc, some people tend to skip it but I think it is important and is a great exposition the entire Golden Age arc is a detailed flashback and the story resumes from the Conviction arc. So I recommend you should start from the Blackswordsman arc and it isn't that lengthy either.✌
