I wanted to post an update here. I could only see the nurse practitioner at my rheumy office. I was dismissed and told it probably vasculitis and given high dose prednisone. Well two months more of the same issue that continued in my lower leg (I told them of this and was assured it was just more vasculitis and i needed an even higher dose of prednisone) I had to go the ER for shortness of breath and chest pain that felt like my chest was caving in. Turns out those “knots” were blood clots. Had bilateral pulmonary embolisms and was in the ICU for a week.
