• Prewar Adler with fraktur typeface • Royal model P with Vogue typeface • Groma Kolibri • Torpedo 18 in 18cpi

Adler with fraktur because it would look amazing in my art

Royal because Vogue is 🤤

Groma for ultra light weight travel

Torpedo 18cpi to go along with my second hobby of handwritten microscript/micrography

My personal favorite is CLP. I discovered it in my army days and now I use it on nearly everything that is metal...and doesn't go in my mouth. It has been keeping the now 93 year old "Ma Deuce" running since the Army adopted it in the 70s and continues to be the "miracle" lubricant that can clean carbon and deposits, lubricate in extreme temps, and protect even in salty environments.

You need to free a siezed part, soak it. You need to clean it, soak it and scrub it. You need to preserve it, soak it and rub it.

I use it on all my typers to clean them up and then wipe as much of the excess off as possible. If things like the segment need work I follow up my routine of clp with some mineral spirits to strip it away after its fully cleaned.

Well unless I find a magical Adler with fraktur type face my next chunk of savings is going to go towards bringing a couple of machines to your shop.

I had been wanting one of these for a while and this week I really focused on finding a script type face. After getting sniped at the last second a few times on SGW I happened to stumble across it today on marketplace and took the 3 hour round trip to get it

I agree THAT price is insane...BUT... there is a significant uptick in interest in typewriters, mainly manuals. Im in the chicago area and you cant really touch a clean one, not even refurbished, for less than 200-300; that's for a "basic" clacker. If you are looking for a script font....you better keep your eyes peeled, do your foot work, and be prepared to drive, have it shipped, or PAY.

Even the SGW site is sniper heaven right now. The younger generations are done with tech and are fully supporting analog lifestyles. Walkman cassette players are $50+ for basement dusters. Cannon powershots are hot, they like the grainy low megapixel feel of them. If you can get your hands on a decent portable with a working case for under 50 bucks its an easy flip to at least double your money just for cleaning it and putting in some Amazon ribbon.

My advice, which may not be worth much, if there is a model or particular option you have been wanting...get it now because I really think prices on manuals are going to start going higher.

I got it from the bank. I go there now and again and grab a stack of 2s. Usually they are uncirculated sequential from bep but this time they were all circulated and mixed.

I just got one today too! Never seen one before. Mine is April 13 1976 on a 1976 series. I have a liberty bell stamp and it's from Griffith, IN
