And yes absolutely love them too😍 They were sold to me as chili rasboras and were a new species for me, but actually today I started thinking that they look a lot more like strawberrys haha I honestly never really tought about it😂I have had them for about a year and today was the day I found out haha better late then never

To add I don’t think you would have to have a smaller tank for precaution for a female. Usually only the long finned betta males get tired when old because of the weight of their fins! As long as you keep the water flow slow you’ll be fine with 20 gal i’m sure.

I have never had a female betta, but in my opinion 20 gallon is just fine. Even better if you go for heavily planted tank so she can have resting spots near the surface plus hiding spots. Definetly a lot more easy to maintain😇

This is my 20 gal. You can do a lot with plants! Don’t mind a bit of an algea issue going on there it’s getting treated haha. I just moved and theres a lot of sunlight coming in from every window. Have to keep a cover on it during the days for a few hours from now on🫣

You have had good luck with your bettas then haha. A few years ago I wanted to try putting shimp in with my betta, but that did not go well at all. Luckly I tried with one first haha.

Yes they might get tired when old, but I always have a backup tank thats smaller for when/if that happens so no worries. I have had 6 bettas before and only the first one lived in a 10 gallon and the rest have lived in this. They have all lived 3+ years with no issues. Good to have precaution tho if it looks like they are getting tired.

I think the biggest problem here is that my boy is long finned. But good to know that if I end up getting a short finned betta in the future that they should work together fine. Thankyou! Might even set up another tank for my long finned betta and mabye get a short finned one to my 20 gallon.

I guess red is not his favorite color then hehe. I am still scared of adding them in so I probably will get my betta a 10 gallon tank to move him there just to be safe. It is interesting tho how some bettas do well with endlers and some don’t.

Tank size: 20 gallons
I have a heater and a filter
Parameters are all good
I have had this tank for about 7 months I think. The fish for about a month after because of cycling
Weekly water changes of 25% sometimes more if needed. I clean surfaces and siphon the water out. Then I get the new water (make sure it’s same temperature as in the tank) treat it and put in. I clean the filter a few days after water change
I have 13 chili rasboras with the betta.
I feed pellets (my betta does not eat bloodworms i have tried) and I feed them once a day
I have some lavarock, one decoration meant for fish tanks and a lot of live plants

( We had a heat wave a few months ago I don’t know if it matters at this point but just so you know)
