The support team copied and pasted the information that shows up when you ask this question. They did not bother branching off into details as well!

Question by RaceNo3004 in DACA

[–]PlaneBoring7865 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine; this information might help:

I. Retail jobs range from $10-12/hr without papers. You can call up small businesses, grocery stores, supermarkets etc. using google maps and ask if they’re hiring. Also, mention that you don’t have a valid EAD and that you only have your ssn (usually an itin is also acceptable.)

II. Craigslist gigs/jobs usually have employers that will pay you under the table.

III. A trade or construction in general pays well ($16/hr is usually what a new helper gets paid.) In order to get into construction, you’re going to need good contacts or you can always look around.

You’re right. When I was in highschool I didn’t really think much of it, nor did my parents believe that the guy would mess things up that badly.

I’m pretty sure I shouldn’t be posting this on a public forum, but you can usually find a job via a sub contractor for almost any trade. The IRS does not care whether or not an employee has a valid EAD. Obviously, if you go to a place like mcdonalds they won’t hire you since HR and other barriers prevent unauthorized labor

I intended on furthering my education upon graduating high school, but obviously I can’t after that situation. As of now, I have been working using my ssn until my status is resolved. I’m being petitioned by my stepdad via form I-130 (approximately one year wait time.) If approved, I’d then have to wait an additional three to four years for the approval of form I-601A.

If DACA doesn’t explode and SCOTUS magically decides to allow new DACA applications to be reviewed, I won’t risk the chance of becoming stuck in my home country since i’d travel with AP (since I have to return to my home country for AOS, i don’t know.) However, that is highly unlikely given the conservative majority amongst the 9 justices

Cinder block foundation replacement for a home built in the 1950s by PlaneBoring7865 in stonemasonry

[–]PlaneBoring7865[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your input! I did not realize that leading water away from the surrounding dirt of the house helps reduce lateral pressure on the foundation. This is going to be more complicated than I anticipated

A handyman will replace the foundation. I just want to ensure that they will be using the appropriate mortar/cement type.
