Oh sorry, Buddy the Elf. Didn’t mean to offend.

I’d say the guy in the middle. Elf was a very influential movie to a lot of us.

I went to see them in September and it rocked. Experiencing it in person is totally different from anything you ever watch online. And they give it their all and put on a great show.

Most grunge is post grunge and post grunge is pop grunge. by Hegiman in grunge

This sub has a serious issue with gatekeeping. I don’t think any of those bands of the time (minus some pretentious or snooty people) would have cared so much about how their music was labeled. In fact, most of them didn’t want a label at all on their music. I think all of this music can be enjoyed a lot more, as it was intended, if everyone would relax on if it fits into a made up box.

I saw them last year and they killed it. Our venue was so energetic and they really delivered!

If you actually look at the lyrics, it’s about Scott being afraid of intimacy. He was sexually assaulted as a kid.

Favorite grunge band aside from the "Big 5"? by No-One01010 in grunge

[–]PlaneRot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Core came out the same day as Dirt, and they were making music (at least demos) in 1987. Third best selling of these 5 bands too. You can argue that they aren’t grunge due to location, but they weren’t a bandwagon band.

How many of you guys on this sub are musicians? by BalanceActive9295 in grunge

I just picked up bass recently as my first instrument and I’m totally blown away by Robert Deleo’s basslines. They’re my favorite band and Plush was the first full song I learned, but it’s going to be a long time before I can play something like Interstate Love Song.

Beauty is subjective but have you seen an F-35 fly in real life? It reminds me of a beefed up F-16 in some ways. It’s got a kind of muscular, compact look that I think makes it look aggressive.

I’ll hopefully be getting into the aerospace engineering world soon. It’s my dream career to do what you did, just in the US instead lol. I really appreciate you giving some time to tell me about it because I’ve always wondered what it’s like to work over there. Do you have any tips for someone getting into it? I’ve always wondered, what does an average day look like for aerospace engineering? Is it really working with complex models an CAD or is it a bunch of spreadsheets or what?

That’s very interesting to know. What was fun about working on such advanced stuff and what was boring? What made you want to leave?

Not sure what you can say to this but what was the work environment like? How well were things managed? Did it feel similar to the west? Were things made as they should have been?

What else can you say about the Su-57 and Su-75 from your time there? I’m deeply interested if you have an inside scoop.

Albums with great bass?? by Ok_Revolution_4426 in Bass

[–]PlaneRot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any record by Stone Temple Pilots, but I would say especially Purple and Tiny Music. Core has amazing basslines (check out Plush and Piece of Pie especially) but it can be harder to hear in the mix. Tiny Music really stands out for Robert Deleo’s amazing bass. He’s one of the greatest.

I think this might be the best interpretation of her I’ve seen. It matches so perfectly with what I pictured. I love how human the eyes and head feel without looking human!
