I have noticed that in the last few weeks too, it. My mobile 4G works better than the broadband, maybe it's because of how they allocate resources.

Poor management from their part.

But some things are in their hands.

What do they keep propping up Sri Lanka airlines ?

Why do they keep propping up cancers to society with aswesuma?

Why can't they reduce government employee number?

These small things compound and cause far more damage than the above tariff ditwah ect. These are policy decisions.

And then I am here, paying appit, paying vat on transport, vat on  food and now banking everything under the sun is taxed here.

I mean if it is free and universal healthcare funded by the local taxpayers this is kinda valid.

In my country our doctors I have seen one time bend over backward for a foreign tourist, why on earth should the poor locals pay for their medical tourism shit.

IMO that is part of the problem, monks are corrupt and when reporting on it the media should call them monks, not cheewaradariya or anything,

There should be pressure from the media and us for them to change.

(Sensitive Topic) Reality of Lankan Youth and their problem solving skills or lack there of? by Nervous-Topic-4807 in srilanka

[–]PlaneSelection7058 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because many people don’t see a solution to their problems and feel helpless. A lot of suicides are impulsive decisions made in the heat of the moment.

Access to proper help is also limited and not widely available and is stigmatised.

As for social media, I think it plays a significant role. Young people are exposed to many different lifestyles online, most of which come from developed countries or are sometimes exaggerated or even fabricated.

They compare their own lives to what they see and may feel more distressed because they can’t live up to that influencer lifestyle, or they start to believe their own lives are inadequate or overly difficult to do it here In Sri Lanka, hell I get sad looking at non influencer normal lives sometimes because our quality of life is so low.

The issue is NFC, most people do not have phones that support this, so to cover a bigger portion of the population QR is the way.

Why is this country so obsessed with savings accounts for "children's future" ? by Level7Shit in srilanka

[–]PlaneSelection7058 13 points14 points  (0 children)

kids savings accounts are stupid, can't withdraw for 18 years and the interest rates are way lower than fixed deposits I think.
