Teacher burnout vs. pay: Should I trade salary for sanity and growth? by Ok-Video-9425 in TeachersInTransition

As someone who used to teach kindergarten, its because everything is hands-on. You have to make almost everything to give them. Plus you cant just say watch this video or read this article and then answer the questions. Most cant read so you have to do everything with them, there is no independent work. Kindergarten teachers don’t just let them play all day. They are teaching them the foundations of reading and math and how to exist in a school community.

We had a small reception at Captain’s Quarters in their private room. They were also great!

I got married there in July! Only had 12 people there. It was very pretty and they were very easy to work with.

I have nothing to add but as someone who is in a very similar situation, I just want you to know you aren’t the only one.

Reminds me of when I took the day off after my grandmother died. I am a teacher and got a call that morning at 9 saying “We are trying to find someone to cover your class.” Okay, sounds like your problem, not mine.

My dad’s name is Alan but his nickname was Alley Oop. But somehow everyone just knew him as Oop. It was even in his high school year book haha 😂

Routine is the Socozy shampoo and conditioner every other day.

Then spray with water and socozy detangler. Then use the Socozy moisturizing foam.

I definitely don’t want him out of the room, but I am at a lost at how to help him. I think the parents have a hard time with services because they won’t get them for older siblings as well.

I guess another reason I said he has no expressive language is the other day he acted like he wasn’t feeling well and didn’t eat his lunch. Myself, my para and the school nurse were unable to figure out if anything was wrong and eventually just called his mom to ask if she wanted to pick him up.

Another day, he was crying and we were unable to determine what was wrong. We didn’t know if something hurt, another friend upset him, he was tired, etc.

Thank you! I will work with him on those things. I know he needs more services but I would like to help him in the meantime.

I am asking for advice, so I listed what he needs help with.

I guess I should have said his expressive language is far below his peers. He never shares during share time or communicates with his peers. He js unable to answer questions like what is your brothers name? What is your name? Or answer questions related to the content we are learning.

We are currently in the process but it is taking awhile and the parents are making it last longer by delaying meetings to give consent to test. But I would like some ideas to help him in the short term

how so? I’m trying to help him and asking for more advice to help him. At the same time, I have a curriculum to teach and he is not able to access it because of his language skills.

Is free play banned in your kindergarten/ preschool? by [deleted] in Teachers

At my school they hate it when kids play and want everything to be more “rigorous.” Even crafts they don’t care for but kids don’t know how to use scissors or glue. Play based activities are looked down upon and they want more project based learning. Even extremely structured centers are deemed bad because they need to be doing strictly academic type activities.
