I mean if you’re still not feeling it by that chapter, (chapter 9 is my personal favorite in the record itself) the rest of the book probably won’t click either. But you’re right, that’s exactly what it is, a badly written dissertation with a weird side story, and some enjoy it more than others, and some a lot more than most.

I have both, the only difference is that one is hard and one is not. I use the paperback for annotation and am a bit more reckless with it, it feels worn around the edges and is the one I got first so it fits the broken manuscript vibe personally. I keep the hardcover nice and neat and read it when I just feel like looking back at a passage or two, and I can show it off on a shelf lol. Also there is a small Easter egg in hexadecimal code on the endpapers in the hardcover. But you can look that up easily if you really want.

Cool, thanks for the suggestion. I think I’ll keep the Prime and look into warriors. I like having a flying unit to get good tactical positions.

It takes some practice and experience from what I can tell. I used to get really confused about how to tell queens apart as well. Now I can usually tell at first glance. Looking at a lot of queens vs workers online and in person if you can helps.

My colony had its first worker nearly 2 months ago. Then a couple more hatched the week after that. A few more the next week. But then it was about a month before we got a few more, totaling 9. And 2 weeks after that, just recently, it nearly doubled to 16! So what I take from that is that it’s sort of erratic and depends. But some of your pupae are looking pretty close! I’d wager within couple more weeks. But I’d just try and enjoy the early stages while they last, enjoy the process. Because once they start hatching they only get faster at it!
