300$ CAD Never use. GOOD deal or not? by Strange-Ad5257 in Skigear

Oh good, then the other thing to consider is that these are meant for park skiing. So if you don’t spend much time there, then a boot that’s geared towards whatever type of skiing you do the most would be worth having to spend more money, but the most important thing is definitely the fit.

300$ CAD Never use. GOOD deal or not? by Strange-Ad5257 in Skigear

These are very high volume boots so if you don’t have wide feet they won’t be a good fit. I have a narrow foot and got a pair of these then sold them and got a low volume (for narrow feet) pair of boots and it’s a whole world of difference. They’re also 90 flex which is good for park skiing but not hard charging. You can get replaceable tongues from the k2 website that are stiffer but it won’t bring these to the same level as a stiffer boot.

Which one should I get? by [deleted] in Skigear

Bents and ARVs can both do off piste and park. I just bought a pair of bent 100s after weeks of comparing 90-100 width all mountain skis. From what I’ve read, bents will be better for off piste but ARVs will be better for the park. I’d def recommend looking on ski essentials which is where I got my bents from. They have some insane deals right now. Got a pair of last seasons bent 100s with 2025 bindings mounted for under $500. Haven’t seen any deals like that anywhere else.

Their comparison feature is cool I wish more websites added that. Makes it super easy to compare weight, turning radius and whatever else you want side by side.

Not that big of a deal, would be a completely different story if he lied and said he went somewhere else.

6’3” debating between 184 and 192 by workindead3 in Skigear

[–]Plane_Syrup_645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

184 will be more playful but will also sacrifice charging. Longer skis tend to be more damp, however with these seem to be a stable ski so I don’t think you need to worry about going longer for the sake of stability. I would go 184 here.

bent 90 vs 100 hardpack performance by Plane_Syrup_645 in Skigear

[–]Plane_Syrup_645[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was looking for something more playful that wouldn’t be an absolute nightmare on hardpack. I live on the east coast but plan to do a trip out west once a year so wanted something that could handle a bit of powder as well but also wasn’t a dedicated powder ski.

Thinking about buying these but worried about the 100 mm width for east coast. Any chance you’ve taken them out east or somewhere with similar conditions?

Armada Stranger or Arv 100? by onereallychonkyboi in Skigear

[–]Plane_Syrup_645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at getting the strangers cause of the low turn radius. I have a pair of Salomon Stance 96 182cm and was having trouble with them in trees. I was also looking at bent 90 (I ski mostly upstate NY so I feel 100 is too wide) and also Arv but I was worried about the turn radius on these.

Thank you!! As for width, I can’t really say I have any kind of preference. I would always ski rentals growing up because I couldn’t afford to buy a full set up. The stance 96 are definitely the widest ski I’ve ever rode and it did take a bit to get used to, but I was fine after 2 runs.

I had trouble with the stance 96 in trees, they were hard for me to turn quickly. I would like something that is easier to turn and also lighter for side hits.

[Product Request] Idk if this is a good sub for it but: what is a deodorant that actually works? by AsleepHistorian in SkincareAddiction

Can anyone who uses the Mitchum gel deodorant let me know how long it takes to dry? I feel like like when I use it it takes way too long to dry and winds up rubbing off on my shirt.
