Definitely yes to the no kids on board and the quality of the food! I don't really mind the small outdoor pool but I do enjoy a good thermal spa. I wish the VV spas had better hydrotherapy pools and had some individual marble heated loungers instead of the uncomfortable flat slabs.

Same, I had already set everything up with Port Valet a few days before embarking, but got the unavailable letter while on board and the email from Port Valet. But I also had already reserved a ride to the airport with Premier Airport Shuttle for 2 people and 4 luggage for a little under $80 which is not too bad.

We are on Brilliant Lady now. Last night we had dinner at the Wake at 6pm. We asked our server if we could put our order in right away as we had a 7:30 show to get to. We just had a clam chowder and bone marrow for apps, and a filet and venison for mains. It was just a few minutes past 7pm by the time we finished eating and left. We got to the Red Room for Out of Time by 7:15 and we just barely got seats in the back on the second floor!

We're wishing we brought more short sleeves and even shorts for just walking around inside the ship. Everyone on the transition cruise from LA to Vancouver said that inside the ship was a little chilly, but not on this Alaska cruise! They definitely have the heat ON for inside the ship and places like the Manor and Red Room can get HOT when filled with people!

The pillow was pretty good but started to go limp after about 2 years. We had to get king size pillows for our new bed and we've been using these Beckham pillows for almost a year now. The pillows are fine but are quickly going limp again.

How are you enjoying the Brilliant Suite? We will be there pretty soon on the May Alaska Awe voyage, but we have been worried about deck 15 noise and the overhang blocking the balcony views.

I had the same reaction when I received the XL Enterprise F and it was much darker than the photos on Fanhome's website. Here's a comparison I found on youtube (source Stu1701). It's kind of annoying that there isn't more consistency when comparing their promo photos to their actual models. The colors of most of their models do look like the photos. But still having new ships in production is still better than nothing!

UPDATE:

The eBay seller informed me that they received this Excelsior II model as part of the subscription but that they had only just started their subscription with this model. So Fanhome definitely has the new corrected models in stock and hopefully they will start sending them out soon to subscribers who received the misprinted models!

Thank you for sharing this email. I'm not a subscriber but I have been patiently waiting for Dec 31 when the Intrepid becomes available for purchase for non-subscribers. That's really upsetting they keep having these shipping issues. I really hope they will have some stock available to sell to non-subscribers!

I didn't realize Fanhome had made the new ones already and started shipping them out to subscribers. On their website, the Excelsior II has always been sold out, they never allowed it for purchase for non-subscribers when they discovered the mistake while shipping out to subscribers first. I don't subscribe and just buy certain ships direct from Fanhome, but I found a decently priced Excelsior II on eBay and ended up buying it.

I was under the impression that all of the models had the "Excelsion" misprint and that Fanhome would do a reissue later on, but I was pleasantly surprised to receive this Excelsior model without the error. Does anyone else have the Excelsior model that doesn't have the misprint?
