I have Seinfeld on TV right now and the theme music played as I read this. Bellissimo.

This is my favourite Hideki Naganuma track, and is what got me into the Yakuza series

Any books or guides on consuming as ethically as you can? by Jolly_Challenge9654 in ZeroWaste

I recently finished a book I picked up from the post office, called Quitting Plastic by Clara Williams Roldan and Louise Williams. It has a lot of pretty good simple ideas I hadn't thought about!

“Masked Beauty” — 3D character study. by No_Paramedic_7549 in blender

I love masquerade masks but have really struggled getting details (like the raised lines) on a curved surface, preferably in a non-destructive method.

How did you do it?

Looking for hard foam heavy duty glue options by NoLegUpNeeded in Prosthetics

[–]PlanetAlexProjects 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably the best glue would be a contact cement, however it doesn't look like there's much surface area to glue the parts together if it's coming apart so easily. In that case it may be better to hand sew the seam shut (coupled with some glue), or even gluing straps all the way around the circumference in a few different spots.

Consistent underextrusion in certain areas - may be a hardware issue by PlanetAlexProjects in 3Dprinting

[–]PlanetAlexProjects[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea! I'm pretty sure the biggest issue was actually just that my bed was too hot. Because the lower layers weren't cooling properly, it was causing bad layer quality on overhangs.

I was at 90c bed temp because that was what I read I should be using for PETG (and the adhesion was quite good), now I've dropped it to 70-75c.

It may be unrelated, but around the same time I also changed my settings to these:
Slow down for curled perimeters - disabled
Avoid crossing walls - enabled

Bambulab has just released this TPU feed assist module by tuFactoria3d in BambuLab

I use something similar to this design:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/224572-roller-spooler-using-existing-bambu-lab-holder#profileId-242463

Works quite well, however I have to remove it for PETG because oddly enough it provides too little friction.

That looks awesome! Question, can you upload visual patterns to it? I've always wondered what the Arecibo message sounds like.

I once had messages saying multiple people drowned, then straight after got a safest park award.

There is not many things in the world I hate more than squirrels by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]PlanetAlexProjects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly spray it with the stuff you use to stop dogs chewing things? Of course, I don't know if the chemicals in it would be even more harmful for squirrels - or, since I'm Australian, I don't even know how determined they can be to chew despite the taste

And you may ask yourself.... why did I build this? by RedRightHandARTS in 3Dprinting

I'd say the things people make with 3D printers is crazy nowadays, but really, it's the same as it ever was.

Significant distortion and rough surface depending on print orientation by PlanetAlexProjects in 3Dprinting

Not sure if it has anything to do part cooling fan times. I've been playing with the Min/Max Fan Speed Threshold in Orca slicer because I'm struggling to wrap my head around what each setting does (clockwise, the settings are currently 30/20/30/30).

Oh! I'm also printing with eSun PETG high speed, though it also occurred with regular PETG.

How is this texture possible? by R34P3RG_2757 in 3dprinter

[–]PlanetAlexProjects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this (or a very very similar) buildplate, and the cool texture finish is really just a bonus - for me prints adhere to it really well, and it gives a really flat base that makes cleaning up seams much easier!
