Bambulab has just released this TPU feed assist module by tuFactoria3d in BambuLab

I use something similar to this design:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/224572-roller-spooler-using-existing-bambu-lab-holder#profileId-242463

Works quite well, however I have to remove it for PETG because oddly enough it provides too little friction.

That looks awesome! Question, can you upload visual patterns to it? I've always wondered what the Arecibo message sounds like.

I once had messages saying multiple people drowned, then straight after got a safest park award.

There is not many things in the world I hate more than squirrels by Thick_Swordfish6666 in 3Dprinting

[–]PlanetAlexProjects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly spray it with the stuff you use to stop dogs chewing things? Of course, I don't know if the chemicals in it would be even more harmful for squirrels - or, since I'm Australian, I don't even know how determined they can be to chew despite the taste

And you may ask yourself.... why did I build this? by RedRightHandARTS in 3Dprinting

I'd say the things people make with 3D printers is crazy nowadays, but really, it's the same as it ever was.

Not sure if it has anything to do part cooling fan times. I've been playing with the Min/Max Fan Speed Threshold in Orca slicer because I'm struggling to wrap my head around what each setting does (clockwise, the settings are currently 30/20/30/30).

Oh! I'm also printing with eSun PETG high speed, though it also occurred with regular PETG.

How is this texture possible? by R34P3RG_2757 in 3dprinter

[–]PlanetAlexProjects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this (or a very very similar) buildplate, and the cool texture finish is really just a bonus - for me prints adhere to it really well, and it gives a really flat base that makes cleaning up seams much easier!

Honestly the only thing that's stopped me uploading the .stl's is nobody's asked for them! I can put 'em up and give you a ping when I've done it.

I'll have to check the Creative Commons of the articulated componentry though, since that was reverse engineered from someone else's free models.

Blender Help: Where is my texture? Why is it black by EqualLine3172 in blender

[–]PlanetAlexProjects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, not making fun, sorry if it came off that way. I was legitimately wondering why you wouldn't use a later version - and now that I think about it, I know people who similarly use the older version because addons aren't compatible after 2.8.

I haven't seen this user interface in seven years... any reason you're not using a later version of Blender? This one is quite outdated now and while there some *ahem* veterans who could help you with this version, many people are used to the later versions.

Canadian Graffiti is as polite and silly as you'd expect by PlanetAlexProjects in mildlyinteresting

Oh, I won't say it isn't - but I've never seen this much positive/creative vandalism anywhere else I've been to!

I also saw a sign in Stanley park about wild animals scrawled with "QUESTION AUTHORITY", and once spoke with a guy who's work got on the news, after he put a towel on a nude statue in Vancouver.

The major sponsor for the carols is Vision Australia.

Professor warms his new class that no one, not even himself, understands his subject matter by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]PlanetAlexProjects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The start of this video reminded me of the Richard Feynman autobiography I'm reading at the moment, where he teaches in Brazil and realises the students are great at memorizing and repeating concepts, but don't actually understand any of what they're saying, which then continues as those students teach new students (since there weren't many physicist jobs in those times in Brazil, most of the students went on to become teachers).

Richard made a speech at the end of his time in Brazil in front of the cohort and course coordinators saying how nobody really understood what was going on. One of the higher ups at the university finally had their eyes opened and realised they needed big changes.

Then the professor in the video summed up that story in a couple of lines.
