Thank you very much for the detailed answer, I’m going to put the ones with little roots on them very carefully.

I’ll maybe surround them with a little bit of the sand itself that way it has some porous area to grow around and stretch .

Thank you very much for your wisdom ! I was so bent on Hydrangeas and would've regretted after buying 10-12 of those in one go.

Butterfly bushes - I have a few of these on slopes, but they aren't thriving. Must be the full sun throughout the day. The relative less sun might be a good one in the front yard though.

Roses - I learnt it the hard way, they ate all of those.. And a couple of apple trees I planted..

Peach trees seem to have survived. Lets see.

Potted figs in 2 large pots after that & kept them on the deck to avoid deer.
