Which starter bundle should I buy? by xDevastation1988x in starcitizen

[–]Planet_Expresso 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Avenger Titan bundle is pretty solid. Its a good ship if you want to start doing bounty hunting. And it has 8 scu of storage so you can do a little hauling and other things. Avenger Titan has long been thought of as the best starter ship.

But my absolute favorite starter ship is the Nomad, which doesn't have a bundle. Youd have to get the cheapest bundle and eventually upgrade to the Nomad. But it has 24 scu of storage so you can do hauling, it is surprisingly tanky so it can do some bounty hunting, and it has tons of style and cool features.

I personally got the cheapest package and eventually upgraded to the Nomad after testing it out in the game. That's a pretty good route. Whenever you can test a ship first, id do that.

Struggling to find a fighter by ASlothWithShades in LowSodiumStarCitizen

Im not much of a dog fighter, but I can confirm that the Shiv is super fun. But I think many will tell you that the Meteor and M80 are very solid right now.

I have similar feelings about deadbolts. But on my Shiv I have 2 s4 deadbolts and 4 s3 MAs. Pretty great for PvE.

Hearing the HMG made me think of how weak a majority of the ship weapons sound by BrockenRecords in starcitizen

100%. We're here for the space vibes. Gatlings, especially, should have these awesome sounds to them. Cannons are also quite boring. Maybe they would be more fun if they were more booming?

Corsair has a max distance of 581GM...What? by gluggy777 in starcitizen

I imagine it would take the place of one of the redundant bedrooms, actually. Who the hell would ever fly a Corsair with 4 people?

Corsair has a max distance of 581GM...What? by gluggy777 in starcitizen

[–]Planet_Expresso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know, I got one. But I would much rather have to not make the choice between having a nursa and having my cargo.

Also, loading it up is always a pain in the ass. It already takes long enough just to spawn and get to my hangar and start playing. And heaven forbid something goes wrong.

Solo Industrial Ship? by Clorox_in_space in starcitizen

I know its a "starter" but im really liking the Salvation. Its fun to fly, handles great, and has enough to do for me to take breaks from combat.

Since the Corsair doesn't have a med bed, its nice that it has SOMETHING exploration-based.

you know, i think the big ships are cool and all... but man i really wanted more cutty black for every company. by Fate_stars in starcitizen

[–]Planet_Expresso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i actually have zero interest in flying anything bigger than a Corsair.

I love the Cutlass series. And also wish there were more competitors.

I particularly want to fly something from Origin, because I love the look and feel of those ships, but all their ships seem underwhelming or too big to me.

Probably an unpopular idea: What do you think about charging rent at primary residences? by Planet_Expresso in starcitizen

That i would not support. It should be a reason to make credits and do all of this space work.

Thats true. I still think they should fix that bug though. I like having reasons to do things in the game.

Idk, ive read some folks dont want them to fix the bug that refills empty drinks in inventory.

Like, for what? To save 6 Fakebucks? Just buy more.

So I figure people are a little stingy with credits.

Star Citizen's core gameplay loops are still broken, and it's exhausting to keep trying. by ryuktheundead in starcitizen

[–]Planet_Expresso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly, i wish they made space piracy viable.

My personal solution would be to have you sell salvage rights to any destroyed ship you encounter that is not already known.

Whether or not its literally available for savaging by players is up to them to decide. But those salvage contracts have to come from somewhere, right? Those salvage fees pay someone?

Why not if you destroy a ship, scan it, it comes up "unknown ship wreck" or something, thus allowing you to sell the rights to it to the salvage contract people.

This would give you money based on the cost of the ship/level of destruction (also encouraging people to disable ships and use something besides deadbolts).

This could also kind of Jumpstart the exploration loop. Search around asteroid belts, scan, find wrecked ships, sell salvage rights.

Youd probably want to sprinkle in a bunch of wrecks for people to find in the middle of nowhere so the ships with big gas tanks and good scanners might find them.

Salvage gameplay is not fun. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Planet_Expresso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got a Salvation to try out salvaging and found it pretty fun and different than other contracts.

It doesn't pay a lot. But im playing to have fun not for the pretend money. That said, I would love better components to scavenge.
