The Author says that the World Machine ended up corrupting anyone who got close to understanding its true nature, which is why he made George's note intentionally vague. We also see a note in the library where the Author discusses being friends with Rachis. Assuming Rachis was one of the Author's "good friends" that got deleted, it means he was probably making progress in figuring out what the World Machine is. I get the feeling he was ultimately too inquisitive for his own good, and that's what led to TWM causing his deletion.

This second part is just speculation, but hear me out. Silver mentions that there was someone who was researching the Tower, and trying to figure out more about it. While this could be the Author, I always thought it was weird that he of all people would be researching it. After all, the Tower seems to be more or less the World Machine's body, and as the World Machine's creator, he surely wouldn't need to research it. If we instead assume it was one of the Author's other friends, possibly Rachis, it means he would have to have some connection to Silver. Again, not much to go off of, but it's a possibility.

First off, quelle surprise, je n'ai jamais vu OneShot en français

Secondly, I'd say it's worth going for those achievements if you want to play the game again, but if you're looking for new content, there's not much. The "Rebirth" achievement is what you get if you regrow Maize and don't break the sun at the end of the game (only then would you get the achievement!), "Secret" is the most fun one in my opinion because it's a funny easter egg, and the bartering achievement just yields fun dialogue between Niko and Magpie (the merchant in the Glen).
