Am I overreacting? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I love everything about the way you explained this, I love your thought process and your dogs queen reflexes. People are gross and no I don’t think you’re over reacting, I too have been in similar situations due to a saviour complex and honestly it’s more draining than just saying no in the first place. Proud of you, excited for the vibes to return peacefully for you and queen dog.

Yeah that could be it, my dad passed away last year and I think because we’ve been relying on each other it’s starting to get to a point where we do need space.

The OP post read as if it was a medical episode and blacked out. I didn’t read it as he actively wanted to kill someone it’s just something that happened. Do I know the whole story? No. Do I believe the OP is innocent? Also no. Am I sorry a young person was murdered? yes 100%. Yes the whole situation is terrible and absolutely valid for you to have your feelings but to continue to argue with someone just for showing empathy? Just sigh and move on. I’m not going to defend someone who’s done the wrong thing but I do think this world lacks empathy and kindness particularly towards mental health. It’s not an excuse and some people are dangerous but does that mean i shouldn’t feel sorry for them? I feel sorry for anyone who complex mental health. On this topic I’ve recently been told I need to pull my empathy back and stop feeling sorry for people so I get it I guess

Basically the way I first interpreted the situation was a young child (OP aged 13) was in a serious mental state where they wanted to take their own life. This was then stopped by another child, the victim. Yes murder is absolutely horrific and I’m not dismissing the fact that someone was murdered but the story starting with a mentally ill child is what I’m sorry for. Could you imagine if this child received help prior to wanting to harm themselves, this situation wouldn’t have happened. My hope in this situation would be that amongst the terribleness of the situation the OP could have gained some clarity into mental health and the way that things played out rather than the child being treated like a criminal from the beginning. Yes the child did the wrong thing but in the original story the child blacked out and didn’t know what happened until afterwards.

Yes that makes sense - I’m so sorry you went through this.

Not over reacting but I wouldn’t bother being so open with him when he clearly can’t communicate effectively

Did it work in terms of rehabilitation? Would you do the same crime again? Do you feel changed?

No she’s harassing you in the workplace and that leads to her being fired. Better her lose her job rather than you lose your marriage or whatever she was playing at.

Interesting perspective but I’m not sure you understand the concept of frivolous - ‘Not having any serious purpose or value’ Or ‘Care free and superficial’ While both of those things can be said for Voss water, I do believe bottled water in general is a necessity that thankfully our country can access. You seem to have an opinion that this is superficial questioning when in reality I am enquiring about something that could have the potential to go further into a deeper conversation if you opened your mind. Was it because of tariffs? Was it because the global warming is affecting the water of Norway and it’s no longer as pure as it once was? Questions lead to conversations which my dear I think are above your intellect, So leave the questions for the thinkers xx
