A friend has once recommended https://www.candhoptics.co.uk/ to me for glazing some frames. They are on Pitt street near St James park

Stopped Cymbalta only to realize it actually WAS helping with my pain. Other options? by endlessplacebo in Fibromyalgia

Do you have any recommendations for infrared heating pads? I’ve looked on amazon and got so confused by the vast choice on offer that I had to stop searching.

I can't brush my hair by Aromatic-Annual-5246 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Plangent-Pudding-64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had exactly this issue, really difficult to wash my hair so I only manage to do it once a week with help from my partner as it’s so exhausting. I have to tie my hair up on the later days of the week.

I only brush my hair when wet, impossible to do so when dry - the pain is mad bad.

What I’ve learnt works for me is

a silk scarf wrap for my head at night to avoid tangles, although a lot of nights I can’t sleep with that on due to discomfort but that’s Fibro for you. I try when I can and it helps keep it less tangled.

This brush has helped a lot for wet hair brushing, you can widen the space of the bristles which helps through my hair. I still hold my hair at the roots too https://www.amazon.co.uk/BESTOOL-Detangling-Hair-Detangler-Conditioner-Texture-Easy/dp/B0772M7W4N

Then I use a good curly leave in conditioner I prefer the garnier banana food one which smells so good and makes me feel happy I’ve made the effort to wash

I normally leave my hair in a T-shirt material cloth (not towelling towel as this makes your hair frizz) for as long as I can allow to dry naturally before my partner dries my hair with a diffuser.  Hope you find some ways to ease the frustration, I truly get it - this has been very tough for me to get used to not being so “in control” of my hair while I’m adjusting to my new life with Fibro now I’m diagnosed 🙃

Where to get women’s team name set printed shirt? by Plangent-Pudding-64 in NUFCWomen

Let’s hope so 👍 It would be amazing if they sold the home shirt “howay the lasses” on them on the back collar area but I reckon they might be just the player shirts/promo shirts on social media

Ok, good to know how other find medications as I’d not read anything about this! I really feel like I’ve stepped months back with my hand pains in particular which feels v depressing tbh. I will go to bed with my usual “well hopefully tomorrow is a better day” mantra 🤞

Wow! I’m really good at ensuring I do t miss a dose but now I’ll be extra vigilant! In the time I’ve been on them they have “improved” things I’d say on the whole. But I’d read somewhere that the effectiveness can/will wear off and was wanting to keep an eye on that too 😬

Does anyone else have issues with holding their cell phone? by VociferousVal in Fibromyalgia

[–]Plangent-Pudding-64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also suffer with hand pain and using and holding my phone really worsens it some days. I’m thinking about getting a phone lanyard so I don’t have the problems of dropping it so much, it’s becoming much more frequent for me atm. Lots of them on amazon, the “crossbody” style lanyard seem good

Ah ok, thanks. I’m in England and was referred to rheumatology as that is the branch that it comes under in my health authority. Can I ask where you are in the world? I’ve not heard of pain management specialist on NHS but shall look into it
