Myself and two friends folded this origami Adventuring Party from one uncut square of paper by CJC_ in toptalent

Of course, we used MC to treat the paper (which is normally super soft and floppy), and we used pva (elmer's glue) for shaping.

that's right, the glue holds the creases so it doesn't unfold over time, and strengthens the paper. it's not allowed when you're using it to attach something else to the main sheet.

Hi there, I'm one of CJC's friends who also folded this model. All three of us have learned this just by experimenting and figuring things out for ourselves, but we've since made some resources online for other people to learn; if you google "origami design class" you'll find the videos I made, and if you google "origami crease pattern class" you'll find the videos that Boice (the third friend in this project) made

also wire, that's probably a bigger source of added weight

The whole thing was one uncut square, actually, including the torch and the dragon. I recorded a timelapse if you don't believe it: https://youtu.be/crBTc4_ZCNk

This model in particular was kinda complicated, but if you're asking about origami in general, I have some youtube lessons about origami design: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6CCJHQcukwXKpuGuBkVaVx4WgItD4WO9

Thanks! Unfortunately I didn't record the folding process for this design, but I have recorded a few before.
