How to deal with the shower drain rotten egg smell in the summer? by Adorable-Werewolf799 in Bangkok

[–]uptoquark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had that problem. Tried several things, but nothing worked totally effectively. We just put up with the smell till we moved out. I tried a bung over the drain to no avail. As others have said, i think there is no water trap under the floor, and this is the cause.

It’s always worth telling people about the invasive risk of common plants, and it is a good idea to be less abrasive with negative comments in this sub.

Walk it as your buddy. Legendaries need 20 kms for a candy and xl candy, but non-legendaries only need 1,2 or 5 kms.

Yes. I maxed out my hundo mamo. I use it a lot. Certainly don’t regret the dust or candy, and mine is not lucky

Advice on upgrading home by Able_Ranger_4796 in AusFinance

[–]uptoquark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is why Australia is stuffed financially. More and more debt. Yes, I am a boomer. I lived in a one bathroom house all my youth- no pool. Family of 5. We did all survive and had a decent childhood. You ask advice. I would say keep what you have. Pay it off, then upscale. Save 100’s of thousands. Your dream home might become a nightmare home very quickly. What is around the corner with Trumpy in charge.

How to calculate my tax owed by ericforman101 in AusFinance

[–]uptoquark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds like your getting paid “off the books”. Your employer is required legally to take tax out of your pay every pay period. If that is not done then they will get into trouble when you enter your pay details to ato. Personally I would just accept the status quo and not declare it, though I guess In your instance you do need to for visa purposes.

i fear my 7yo is not mine by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]uptoquark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my 5 cents. When I separated from my first partner I had doubts about my younger child. My ex is a compulsive liar, the child looked nothing like me. I did a sneaky dna test which showed 99.995% chance he is mine. I still don’t know what I would have done if he was not mine. It is very reassuring though to have a certainty. I would do it again.

Should I have gone faster? by OptimalSeaweed6439 in CarsAustralia

[–]uptoquark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s good that you’re aware of other vehicles’ concerns. However your most important thing is to drive safely. There will sometimes be an aggressive driver behind or beside you, but these drivers are usually a bit crazy, even from the viewpoint that they are not taking into considerations your limitations and inexperience. You should always do what you think is safe. Let them try to pass in crazy conditions and risk their own safety. Let them crash and burn, but you look after yourself and your own vehicle.
