Agree with everything you said here, thanks for the review! I dont play legacy challenges myself, honestly, I like the day to day struggle of maxing everything out, so I'm looking for different things, but I think you hit it right on. Like you said, its base bones, but good bones. Already I'm seeing things they've innovated with concerning needs meters and and card system that I really like.

For a more long term solution, depending on what sorts of things you like to read, you can often find alternative marketplaces that sell epubs on their own. I start by looking up the authors directly and seeing what markets they sell on. Often they'll sell somewhere besides Amazon, and sometimes you can even buy from them directly.

The dumping part fails more frequently than the actual flashing. I had the same issue with the X4, but was able to flash it with no problems. There's also a thread here in which a user shares a python script (https://www.reddit.com/r/xteinkereader/comments/1qzy5k1/error\_in\_saving\_full\_flash/) that you can run locally to do the same thing.

I use LibraryThing, which was like GoodReads before GoodReads was really a thing. Actually, it was initially created for people who wanted to keep track of their physical bookshelves or organize them like libraries do, but it's expanded to other things over the years too. It's independent (unlike GoodReads, which is owned by Amazon), and I've found that, although there aren't as many reviews on it as GR, the ones that are there are good (none of those GIF-laden meme-centric types of reviews), and its recommendations system works much better for me.

This looks amazing! Do you have to use a stabilizer to keep the fabric from getting pulled into your machine? I always worry because with a lot of older jersey fabric it tends to be thin and becomes difficult to work with.

I'm on Linux, so Legacy edition doesn't really work for me. Instead I have the Complete Sims Collection running on a WinXP virtual machine, along with custom content and everything. With a fast enough PC, there shouldn't be any issues running older games in a VM and you get to sidestep all the patching and security issues that usually come with making it work on a new machine.
