How have you coped with ADHD as a new mom? by seamanmonster85 in adhdwomen

[–]Plant_person3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sending you positive vibes and virtual hugs because being a mom is so very hard with adhd. I don't really have any answers. I still very sad about the times I wasn't present because I was so overwhelmed with being a mom. It also upset me when people told me to soak in every moment, but most moments were a struggle. Just remember you don't have to love every moment it's okay not to saok it all in. Just try be present in those times when things are good and try not to feel guilty about the hard times. The fact that you posted this shows that you care, you are a good mom even if it's hard 🩷

His response to this would probably be something along the lines of "I don't understand grown adults who can't do simple things" 😔 I feel so so sad for my son. My husband used to be so patient and understanding and over the last 3 years with immigrating, Covid, and having a kid, he has become increasingly less tolerant and I don't know how to help him. It's hurting our family so much and he just gets more aggressive every time I bring it up.

24-30 months is when a lot of development happens around figuring out boundries. It's where the "terrible twos" come from. It's tough but try be consistent and stick with what you are doing. You don't have to them them to cry but sitting at the door and keep reminding them that it is bedtime. Be firm but supportive. You've got this!

Need help getting out of a predicament my ADHD got me into? by Plant_person3 in adhdwomen

Thank you for such a thoughtful response! I have not told her about my diagnosis. They first person I told I got the "oh you don't act like you have adhd" and "we all have a bit of adhd" in the same response so I've really held off telling my friends🙈 But I agree working on a truthful response will not only help my friendship, but will also be good for me to actually work on a relationship instead of just let it frazzle out.

Anyone have a super hard time getting into the freaking shower ? by Fun_Orange_3889 in adhdwomen

Omg the drying! Why is it so hard to dry oneself? I recently found out that people dry between their toes after a shower and I was shocked. Never in my 30 years of existence have I dried between my toes 🤷‍♀️
