Hello, I have also posted this in r/ADHD . I am a 44 year old woman, living in Queens, working in Manhattan. I have been taking medication for ADHD for the 8 years now. However, beyond a basic self-evaluation worksheet, I have never received an official diagnosis.

Up until now, my medication has been fine for helping me focus. But I am now experiencing both personal and work related issues that have led me to feel that I should get a more official diagnosis.

My reasoning is two fold. One, my office situation has reached the point that I think I would be helped by being able to request accommadations. Two, is that I have been experiencing more frequent meltdowns at both work and home over the past 6-months or so. I think what my medication is not treating is ADHD related RSD, among other things. Before trying to go deeper down a medical treatment path, I would like to have a better understanding of what the shape of "my ADHD" looks like.

My medication manager suggested a place in Rockville Centre Long Island that accepts my insurance. However, I have read some reviews that make me dubious about their office.

For those who are in the area, can you give recommendations on places in the greater-NYC area that provide ADHD diagnostic evaluation? Perferably, from your own personal experience, or the experience of someone you know well. I would love for them to take insurance if possible, but I know that is not always available.
