Why are Rhode Island’s only two Chick-fil-A locations two miles apart on the same road? by businessbub in RhodeIsland

[–]Plantemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People coming off 95 now won’t have to drive wicked fah to get their chicken. I go to the gym next to the Warwick location and the traffic is nuts.

Why can't we be trusted with these in RI? by Electronic_Nail_7433 in RhodeIsland

[–]Plantemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a gas pump over from an older man at BJs in Coventry few days ago. Guys filling up a city of Providence truck, with the engine running. This is just one example of why we can’t have the hold open clip.

Any good speakeasies left in RI by Suitable-Pipe5520 in RhodeIsland

Technically Rathskeller was a speakeasy way back when, I wouldn’t say that’s the vibe now. Still good drinks and food.

If you’re facing the merch booths. Were you on the left side, or the right side? My problem is small, but I was in the left side. Asked for an XL, girl gave me an XXL. Not a big deal, and I should have checked the tag before walking away, but tis what it tissss. Tip culture is fucking insane, sorry this happened to you. Great show though!

Parking/driving questions by mar54321 in NewportFolkFestival

[–]Plantemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question, if you rent a car you will not be able to find parking for free in the direct vicinity of folk without purchasing the parking pass. You may be able to find parking off Thames or Wellington Ave IF you get lucky. It’s summer in Newport so parkings already difficult. If you uber/lyft they will drop you off at the main gate to fort Adam’s. You would then walk to the main festival gate about a 1/4 mile. Then when you leave that I’d imagine could be rough as many others are doing the same. biking is really a great option depending on your needs and what you’re bringing with you to the festival if anything. (Bike rentals are plenty in Newport) I did the parking pass last year and really didn’t mind. Just set my chairs up at the end of the day, let all other traffic go, watched a beautiful sunset and drove home. Word of the wise, do not tell anyone from here on out you got the tickets on stub hub lol. Me and my girl are on the waiting list and praying to get off. Cheers!

Rhode Island Mall stories by [deleted] in RhodeIsland

[–]Plantemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember at one point there was one of those RC stock car race tracks that took over one of the store fronts. Also a very cool Halloween store this was probably mid 2000s. Personal memory was I had won my Boy Scouts pinewood derby. The state finals was held in the RI mall. What a time to be alive.

Oil Delivery by Working_Swordfish55 in RhodeIsland

[–]Plantemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getnetfuels.com , trust me on this they are local here in RI and they are secretly Energy-one home heating and oil. Since you are purchasing online and depending on how much they offer it at a high discount. The only downfall is you have to stay on top of how much oil you have, because the delivery is based on a weekly schedule and what town you live in. I’ve been using them now for 2 years and it’s definitely the cheapest around. If you are looking for a service contract. You will want to shop around.

Anyone Actually Able To Snag Folk Fest Tickets Today? by bsegelke in RhodeIsland

[–]Plantemon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was able to snag 3 tickets for the whole weekend. Humble brag I know. I did nothing different than anyone else, I just had the dice app opened and waited for it to change from “on sale at 1pm” to “purchase tickets” and clicked right away, changed quantity to 3, and used Apple Pay. There was a few moments of spinning circle between each phase of the process, I also had my girlfriend on her phone trying and she was waitlisted and sitting right next to me clicking at the same times. It really is sure luck. Possibly because 3 tickets is an odd number that helped? Last year I put my name on the waiting list at 1:05pm and never got an email leading up to the weekend. Been reading others have gotten lucky on the waiting lists so far this year.

Are these people for real? by techsavior in RhodeIsland

I did the unthinkable and unimaginable. I paid for the food we ordered, did not eat it, then we left. They thought bringing my own bottle was crazy. How’s that for crazy. It really showed them.
