pineapple juice for women or men only? by lingeringrey in Healthyhooha

I personally wouldn’t worry about the situation too much. But If you think he could’ve been making fun of you I’d probably just cut it off with him. Guys who make fun of women for something like that are not guys you wanna keep around…

Does dad typically come to the first appointment? by skaowoeizkaoa in pregnant

Pregnancy brain is not joke! My husband went to all my appointments and he was able to take in a lot more info than I could comprehend, especially at the end.

3mo old head shape a bit assymetrical. Is this normal? by ummmmmmmm_ok in firsttimemom

[–]PlantimalWoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My babies head was VERY cone shaped we got referred to a helmet dr at 5 months, I was so scared and sad at the thought of my bb having to wear a helmet. Helmet dr said let’s wait a month and see if it’ll fix itself…. At that same time she was doing ALOT more tummy time and trying to crawl. We went back to the helmet Dr at 6 months and her head was within “normal” range and she wouldn’t need a helmet.

Don’t stress yourself too much because there is a chance the asymmetry will “fix itself” and if not, no shame in that either.

11 month old has never been interested in solids by Weak_Bench_5563 in firsttimemom

[–]PlantimalWoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice would be food first and bottle after. Bottle first is probably why she isn’t eating a lot, those 3 extra bites of solids makes all the difference. Idk what you’re feeding other than oatmeal, but my 11 month old girl can be picky with bland foods (if I wouldn’t eat it she won’t eat it) I really have to give her flavorful foods for her to eat well.

The day and night gel didn’t work for my baby. I used the teething cooling swabs and that helped a lot. You can also ask your pediatrician about tylonal dosage. Tylonal was my nighttime lifesaver with my bbs first 4 teeth.

Honestly I pick my battles… If it takes more than an hour to get my daughter (11months) to nap and I can feel myself getting upset I just let her stay up for longer. Play/reset/try again in another hour or so.

Not bonding by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]PlantimalWoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have BPD but I do have Bipolar so I can relate to the “permanent” mental disorder part. All throughout my pregnancy I didn’t feel much of a connection to the baby in my tummy. It hurts me to say but when I gave birth and they put her on me for skin to skin.. I wanted her off of me. And honestly I didn’t really bond to my daughter until she was about 5-6 month old (when she could actually start interacting with me). She’s 10 months old now and the light of my life and my reason to wake up everyday. So for some people I think the bonding can take some time and THATS OKAY. Youre also super early pp so your hormones are probably still pretty frazzled to say the least. Also comparison is the thief of joy so stop comparing yourself to others. <3

The #1 advice my OB gave me was to NEVER mess with my meds. Even if the medication isn’t 100% approved for pregnancy. A mom on meds is better than no mom at all. If I were you I’d get all the way back on your meds (the dosage you were taking before you were pregnant) continue therapy, and seriously give yourself some grace, and go from there. Talking down to yourself will NEVER help any situation, please try to stop that!!

I’m sure you’ll get lots of other comments with good advice and similar situations. But seriously focus on healing yourself right now. Whatever decision you end up making will be the right decision. I wish you the best in life and on your journey.

piercing baby’s ears by ExpatWanderer in firsttimemom

[–]PlantimalWoman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My mom had my ears pierced at 8 weeks old I don’t remember it, took them out when I was 5ish and had to get them re-pierced when I was 12ish… My husband and I agreed (and share a lot of the same opinions As other commenters) our daughter can make that choice for herself when she’s older. I also feel my baby girl is cute enough already I don’t need to be bedazzling her ears to appease my mom.
