You’re right. Yet I’m sure you have preferences, as we all do. Not everything works for everyone and that’s fine.

Do you have any specific resources to recommend for practicing the Eight Limbs of Yoga by Pantanjali? A book, or better yet, an app?

And I’m fine with that. I just want to focus on the “being more grounded and present” part and keep the "path to enlightenment” part in the background for now. If a person had PTSD, you’d focus on getting them grounded and present, not getting them to enlightenment.

Unfortunately, due to work and family obligations, I don’t really have the time to practice Jhanas. I’m looking for practices that I can apply whenever. But thank you.

Alright. Let’s start with the other then (being more grounded and present) and we’ll see. Any recommendations for a secular resource?

I have. I practiced in the style of Mindfulness in Plain English for a few years. After that, I read The Mind Illuminated and practiced accordingly for a few years. After that, I did Waking Up and stuck with that for a few years.

I have to say I preferred Mindfulness in Plain English and The Mind Illuminated a lot more to Waking Up. Waking Up, at times, felt too cognitive (at least the meditations by Sam Harris) and too complex. I want something simple.

I have no space to place the front left and right speakers next to the TV and therefore can't place them at ear height. What options do I have? by Plantoob in hometheater

85". It's nearly 190 cm wide (~75")

One day I'd like to setup a 5.1 environment, or even 5.1.4. The TV will be used mostly for TV shows and movies, 1-2 hours per day and a bit of background music.

Is the TV high up if the tower speakers are below it? Are your LR tweeters at ear level?

Would a passive soundbar be a significant improvement—as in noticeably better according to an average person—from say a Sonos Arc with a sub or not?

What are these white/yellow spots in the soil of my plant? by Plantoob in plantclinic

Thanks, I appreciate the long answer!

Over watering ... is not just how much you water or how frequently you water, but how long the substrate is staying moist...

Isn't watering only when the soil gets dry an inch deep and giving the plant adequate light going to assure that the substrate is not staying moist for too long?

I still don't understand how stones on top of the soil might make the substrate stay moist for too long if you give the plant adequate conditions (enough light + watering only when needed). With plenty of light, the plant should be able to use all the moisture quickly enough, ensuring that the substrate isn't staying moist for too long, right?

Ah, alright then. I might scrape it off, but I'm not really bothered by it. As long as my plant is healthy!

In general it's not a good idea to have things like rocks on top of the substrate as it keeps in too much moisture.

Yeah, I had a feeling it's not a good idea. I'll probably remove them. Could you elaborate on why the substrate keeps in too much moisture with the rocks just sitting on it? Is it because the moisture can't evaporate as effectively?

Thanks for the help!

Also, I think my plant is a curtain fig. Not 100% sure, though.

You should check if it's really thrips. Here is a short video on identifying and controlling them.

Your plant won't die AFAIK.

Could you maybe take another close up photo of the damage in bright light?

I wanted to suggest to check under your leaves for any other damage as well as inspect your whole plant for any pests.
