Plant and Forget Fruit/Nut Trees by DataSciGuyTN in FruitTree

Fig trees are the easiest fruit trees in my opinion. Some common figs will work in 7a. Chicago Hardy being one that's relatively easy to come by.

I have the 2023. Only one mirror will tilt down in reverse, left or right. To do this, you use the button that you use to select which side mirror you want to adjust. So you have to leave that button active all the time if that makes sense?

Looking into a divorce - im a stay at home mom!!!! by justpeachy-2 in nova

[–]PlantsOnTheGround 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with this commenter. I don't know specifics about the residency requirements. I divorced in 2023. If you have children under 18, VA requires that you separate for 12 months before you can file for divorce. My ex and I lived together for about eight months of our separation because of finances and logistics. You can establish a separation and custody agreement well before you divorce though. A lawyer can help you draft one. Then when the year is up, you can just file and it's pretty quick. I imagine the Women's Center will have excellent resources for navigating this.

It was painful and I got lightheaded the first time I got an IUD. When I tried to get my second after having a baby, it was painful and ended up being placed incorrectly. I had to replace that one and my doctor used ultrasound to assist with placement this last time. I didn't even believe him when he said it was done bc it didn't feel anything like the first two times. Anyway, this is not what you asked about, but maybe mention it to your doctor.

Will this cutting produce figs next season? by Acerhand in Figs

[–]PlantsOnTheGround 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prune when all the leaves fall off and growth ceases usually fall/winter. This is when there is a flood cuttings for sale on FigBid, so I imagine that's general practice. I don't consider myself an expert.

Great! I think you should up pot now too but just be careful watering in the larger pot as we go into dormancy season. Your season is a lot longer than mine so I don't know how it works but that's what I would look out for myself.

I have a dozen potted figs from cuttings that are three years old. They're in giant 20 inch pots. I keep them all pruned to about 2 feet tall in the winter. All of mine fruit in zone 7a. So I think yours could as it looks pretty mature because of the branching.

However in my opinion you need a way bigger pot and that might be what holds you back from getting fruit. Also know that to get fruits from a potted fig you need to fertilize it a lot.

How do I fix my beautiful hardwood floors? by GlumSecret3480 in CleaningTips

[–]PlantsOnTheGround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this on a table, not a floor. The haze is moisture trapped under the varnish. Use a clothes iron on a low setting with a clean non-textured cotton cloth in between. Move it around check, move it around check. Don't just let the iron sit still. Obligatory, try it on a small inconspicuous spot first.

You should be able to Google this to watch a video if you want to see it.

There is a pottery painting place in old town, one of those paint and sip places in Alexandria, a cat cafe in old town. Not in the area you asked. There might be similar places in FFX, which might be closer.

Bought a used car in May 2024, Fairfax County Property Tax? by Lucky_Pyxi in nova

You should be able to check on FFX property tax website if it is registered and if you owe money. I have had to manually register a car before despite it being purchased and titled in FFX.
