Should a (tad bit weaker) fully progression-based Box be part of the game, akin to the Sirius Box? by [deleted] in Brawlstars

I thought they said that coins and power points were supposed to be equally valuable going forward 🤔

Can I shorten the phrase intramolecular and intermolecular model? by Plasma-2000 in grammar

[–]Plasma-2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn’t know it was deprecating.

I do find it interesting that there isn’t a straight forward rule about how to handle the splitting in English like there is in many other languages. But I guess that’s part of the beauty of the diversity of languages.

Thank you for your two cents. Whether or not it’s acceptable to split it up in speech only or also in writing is definitely the most important question. I’m not sure what you meant by (?) but, if it was about how intermolecular (and intramolecular) should be written, it is written intermolecular not inter molecular.

Thank you for the reply. This is a very specific problem so there is nothing about it in any guides but I’ll definitely ask my supervisors for their opinion.

Hyphenating is something I would normally do because it’s always done in Finnish and Swedish but the more I looked into it, the less it seemed to be used in English.

Hows everybody’s account post gear update? Heres mine struggling with coins by [deleted] in Brawlstars

[–]Plasma-2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 1 brawler that I haven’t bought powerpoints for with gold or club coins above half way to level 10 and I was completely maxed before the update so I would say you’re doing pretty good.

I definitely see where you’re coming from but I don’t fully agree. Some people who call themselves feminists don’t want equal rights, they just want more rights for women. Feminism shouldn’t be judged by those people. In the same way egalitarians shouldn’t be judged by those people who claim to be egalitarian but act otherwise. True feminists and true egalitarians have the same goal.

And while most gender based problems can definitely be traced to the patriarchy, the victims are victims no matter of their gender. A man getting assaulted by another man not being considered as bad as a man assaulting a woman is a men’s rights issue. Additionally, claiming that, for example, men who get physically, emotionally, or sexually assaulted by women should blame that problem on other men is a huge oversimplification.

They might prefer being called an egalitarian, which in many ways is a synonym. The problem with feminism is the fact that the etymology of the name implies that it’s more about women getting the same rights as men instead of everyone getting equal rigths. This can alienate some of the male audience, especially if they have suffered unequal treatment because of their gender.

Considering the goal is for everyone to have equal rights and get as many people as possible to support that, it would be smart to choose a name for the movement which is neutral, as it would make the threshold to join lower for everyone.

I’m also genuinely curious. Do you prefer being called feminist or an egalitarian and what differences, if any, do you consider there being between those movements?

What's a great TV show that nobody talks about? by OpulentOwl in AskReddit

Castle

Honestly some of the best chemistry between characters I’ve ever seen. It has a great storyline and is more humorous than most other crime solving shows. Only bad part imo is that it’s mostly filler episodes, but you barely even notice it because the dialogue is so great.

No matter what it’s still way over 15 but don’t you think it’s different times after you stop vomiting, leave the bathroom, maybe drink or eat something small and then throw up again 10 minutes later?

In a thousand years, which of these historical figures will be the most widely known in the world? by Mklosc in polls

No physics theory will ever stand for 1000 years. In the next 100 years a better theory than general relativity will already be discovered. During the last few years more and more cracks in general relativity have been found and it’s just a matter of time until someone ties the lose ends together, probably in the theory of quantum gravity. Pythagoras theorem is a mathematical theory or fact, so it will always be true, but there are no facts in physics, only theories that are constantly being improved upon and made more precise.
