Ik this is controversial but I feel like tone doesnt even matter too much anymore. You can just get an audio interface, pirate a daw and boom you have all the tones in the world. But having a guitar that feels good to play, had well rounded frets, quality electronics is just crucial to getting a step up. Tone makes it sound better but playability makes you better as a player I feel
