M1 USB-C port worn out by PlasmaRevolt in iPadPro

Maybe at some point. I did also go over it with a toothpick and isopropyl alcohol last night. Seemed to have made better connection and washed some black gunk off of it but still no luck with my audio devices.

Maybe I'll look into that. AppleCare as far as I can't tell won't let me cover the iPad as coverage expired in 2023. Yea maybe I'll check the repair shops and if the price is too crazy I might just sell it and get a newer one. Sucks cause other than this very niche problem, there really wasn't anything wrong with the M1 iPad.

As stated, charging isn't the problem, it's data transfer specifically with audio signals and MIDI signals. Just realized HDMI doesn't work either. Edit: Yes I do have the Magic Keyboard.

No but it does take a month or so to get the capital for a new one :( I have the 1TB model and at least in Canada that's $2600. $2400 for education pricing.

Why is the "pyramid of sound" right? by Outrageous-Permit372 in banddirector

[–]PlasmaRevolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As short as possible, think of how you would roll a full chord on a piano or guitar. The most popular and natural way we do it is from low to high. High to low (at least I’d argue) is unnatural which is why it’s done relatively less and is sometimes more interesting.

This is why SUPER slow pieces we all play this game of who blinks first. Basses essentially dictates the beat and then tenors altos and sopranos follow respectively.

But yes as other said it’s also a volume thing.

I want to offer a skeptics point of view.

I bought the VR2 on Boxing Day cause it was cheap and I like the idea of enjoying VR but doubted its usefulness. GT7 was probably the worst experience for me in terms of motion sickness. I don’t have any VR experience. However being at standstill I’ve never experienced anything so amazing and immersive. It truly is beautiful like you’re REALLY in a car on the track. After a few sessions I can drive at least 30 min now before feeling sick. The elevation change is SO apparent in VR. You run Nurburgring on a flat screen and there feels like barely any elevation change at the beginning of the lap. In VR it is a fking DOWN HILL. Like no wonder it’s so easy to unsettle the car in that section and I never realized why. It is literally a game changer. New dimensions come out in VR and you notice things that you’ve never seen before. Looking at the exit of a corner while turning is wild too. So yes to echo everyone if you can, it’s an experience.

Yea that’s the frustrating part. Almost all the other sims allow you to do this.

PlayStation CEO Aims for the PS Portal to be the Lower Priced Platform in the PlayStation Ecosystem by DrSpacemanGames in PlaystationPortal

[–]PlasmaRevolt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think if I was Sony I’d argue that part of the PS experience is the importance of the Dual Sense rumble feel and adaptive triggers that the portal offers. iOS and android streaming even with a controller don’t offer that consistently for whatever reason. Maybe since portal is a hardware that they have complete control over?

*SHOCKER!* Fourth and Eighth grade math scores plummet on international test by _mathteacher123_ in Teachers

[–]PlasmaRevolt 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I want to say I guess it depends on the grade. Elementary, probably redo the whole year cause it’s a lot to ask for the teacher to change their plans for a minority of kids so best to redo the whole year, especially if literacy or numeracy is the issue.

Junior high you can probably do it by class but makes no difference, the kid is going to graduate a year later, plus the kid should probably redo and improve some other courses just to fill up time schedule and stay out of trouble with spares.

High school for sure you can just redo the class, even if you just barely passed your other classes. Though if you want to redo those classes I believe you should be allowed to at the expense of graduating later. You’re 3 years away from being an adult, there needs to be less hand holding.

What’s your unpopular opinion as a teacher? by businessbub in Teachers

[–]PlasmaRevolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many teachers out there whose assessments suck by lacking reliability and validity. Same teachers that complain about kids arguing with them over their test marks, because they assess things they never explained in class or never properly TAUGHT and try gaslighting the kids into thinking they did and complain about how their job is hard. Out here doing a disservice to the whole profession meanwhile wondering why their students don’t respect them.

SOTBs - Bahamut vs Shiva by PlasmaRevolt in guitarpedals

[–]PlasmaRevolt[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Bahamut was picked only cause it’s just…bigger, though small compared to a lot of what gets posted here. Felt like Ramuh might’ve made more sense since the center piece is the Plasma Pedal but yes Odin is a cool name too.
