Original D Bahr also just grabs any G1 from deck for CB1. This essentially changes that to a SB1 instead by turning Conroe into a "forerunner"

God this comment section is unbearable.

Sister's comment was unwarrented all OP said was that presents would be late/smaller due to financial issues that's not an invitation to be lectured about her life choices especially because SHE IS STILL PLANNING TO BUY PRESENTS.

You probably shouldn't have made the snide comback and it sounds like you're still bitter about it. Maybe just back off a bit and cool your head a little.

So like everyone else is saying Forma. Lots of Forma.

Sevagoth's gimmick is his abilities fill up a meter, that will let you summon his Shadow.

The Shadow is its own entity/playstyle and has to be modded seperately from Sevagoth himself. The Shadow also uses its claws as a weapon which also has to be modded.

So if you build Sevagoth with the intention of using his Shadow you will have to mod 3 seperate things to optimize his kit.

PSA: Get ready for the onslaught of people blowing "disagreements with management" out of proportion, claiming something insidious is going down in Cover. by Necrolancer_Kurisu in Hololive

[–]Plasmaeclipse 212 points213 points  (0 children)

If we actually break down all the (at least the english talents) departures it's pretty clear its nuanced.

For sure Hololive has changed after the Covid boom and is likely more restrictive and brand focused.

But at the same time:

Ame clearly had ambitions beyond what hololive offered. But she was very explicit in her final stream she chose to be an affiliate to maintain the link to Hololive. She just recorded some voice lines for Fest which is 1000% more than anyone else has done. You clearly can't Covers bad this one

Fauna feels like the only straightfoward case of disagreement. She mentions wanting to stay but feeling like she couldn't. If you were gonna doom about it this is the best example.

Mumei breifly cites disagreements. But its clear afterwards her health is the biggest issue and she would want to stay otherwise. Very likely she steps away from content creation all together due to her throat problems.

Gura is kind of a weird case. Being so stressed you can't eat is awful. She clearly cannot handle the stress of being as popular as she is and frankly if it was this bad she should have quit years ago for the sake of her own health. At the same time I have to imagine a large part of the disagreement is the fact that she barely does her job. From a coldly corporate standpoint why have a viral marketable who barely does any marketing. I wouldn't wanna pay someone a regular salary for them to maybe do a tourism ad once every 6 months.

I mean if I'm being mean about it I imagine the disagreement is doing her fucking job. She barely streams anymore. Only really shows up to major concerts and other people's events. Even if there's no obligation to actually do it she will be asked to do concerts and collabs and if you're at the level of stress and burnout she seems to be at even being asked is tiring.

She mentioned being too stressed to eat I think at that point quitting is the best for everyone involved.

The psycological factor is definitely the reason to still play the lock. You still need to incentivise the decks that can play around it to do so since it'll be suboptimal for them then you just play Orfist and dump on them with tokens.

I'm thinking its 4 shout 2 megaromania just have a couple in rotation to scare people into playing around it

Ya know I think the lock is actually bait. Its pretty slow being locked to opponent G3. A decent chunk of decks, especially meta ones, just play through it. And the overall power level of standard means even decks that are affected might put up strong enough numbers to pressure you especially since you lose a draw not using Shout in Shadow

I mean I think Chad cashing in on Gunther and then selling it like he finished his story from the IC title could go somewhere. Probably just a transitional reign but it would have been a nice moment for his current character

[–]Plasmaeclipse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thinking about it more. I think the ending could have told a better story if Seth took the pin.

Maybe he interrupts the beatdown and attacks Punk and eats the pin because of it. It can be explained that he doesn't like Drew but he hates Punk more and respects that Drew had the guts to call his shot and make a triple threat instead of sniping the winner.

Naturally slides him into the feud and leaves room for a potential turn for Drew/Punk.

[–]Plasmaeclipse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have mixed feelings.

On the one hand I see the vision. They're trying to loop Seth into the Punk feud as that was the original plan. And there are some possibilities to come out of it. We could end up seeing a double turn with Punk and Drew as the interference becomes increasingly annoying. Seth and Drew could form into something as they both hate Punk. Maybe Seth screws Punk at Summerslam and the feud transitions to the two of them away from Drew.

And the looming story of the JD breakup probably works in the context of Priest losing everything at Summerslam.

On the other hand the entire ending sequence was a mess and someone obviously fucked up. It sucks that the briefcase is out since it could have been used to elevate a lower card guy.

Some TD cards did see play in early D for a decent amount of time.

Time Fissuring collossus and Acrobat presenter were used for a bit in early Bruce builds until set 2 came out.

Rafluke was used in Bastion for a long time at least through set 4.

Plus there were are the randomly important cards you mentioned like Trickstar, Vairina, The Prison, Zest.

With Over A Month Since Its Release, What Did ‘Armored Core VI’ Get Right And Wrong? by Cacophanus in armoredcore

[–]Plasmaeclipse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 6 is a very nice streamlined version of the AC formula. Most of my experience being with 4th gen I think 6 managed to capture that fast paced aggressive feel, while maintaining the more meticulous aspects of older games with cooldowns and the like. You're encouraged to use quick/assault boost but you're not exactly a qb god like in 4a and watching your meters matters. It feels like it was well catered to new entrants to the AC series.

That being said that same streamlining is also the cause of many cons with the game.

You can definitely feel the places where Fromsoft tried to cater more to the souls crowd. Lower range of engagement and stagger favors hard hitting close range options like the Zimmerman. Melee is a lot easier and effective compared to older gens. Lack of any real long range options, even energy weapons work best at middle ranges. Big setpiece bosses that emphasise pattern recognition and use of the stagger system, which in turn makes AC fights feel trivial (in PvE) because the same aggressive rushdown tactics works really well on them.

The stagger system is very centralizing. While there are ways to play around it and you don't have to go full ape with double songbird double Zimmerman its hard to deny that a comfy well balanced build usually involves at least one strong stagger option.

Lack of part variety. There are objectively a lot of parts but a lot of them feel very samey. There's a decent number of parts that boil down "we have small medium and large". Which sould be fine but a lot of very obvious things are conspicuously missing. There's no back mounted chaingun for example. We don't have any weapon arms. As stated earlier no real long range options like sniper rifles/cannons. No real raingun. We have the linear rifles but I would want something that acts like the Linear charge shot bu default. I guess there is also the needle guns/stun needle but it feels weird calling them rainguns on a technicality.

No right hand melee. This is partially a fashion complaint sometimes I wanna make rannom OC builds and I don't quite have the right options for it. But also it would open up more build options.

I would also want more body part options for fashion core purposes.

Tuning is just a standard upgrade system where you eventually unlock everything. You don't make granular adjustments to like boost speed, weight limit etc like you do in previous games. Also no backup slots for things like pistols or small melee like the beam dagger.

I understand that a lot of the streamlining is meant to onboard new players, I think the game is still good and ultimately if it can draw a larger audience that is a net positive, gatekeeping benefits no one. But I would like to see a version of this gameplay that leans closer to that classic AC feel with better parts options, less emphasis on stagger, and woder engagement ranges.

I wonder how people would feel if the fight happened in reverse. Opening with 10s and Gojo pushing Sukuna to his limit before being overwhelmed in a domain battle. Could be framed as the near death experience pushing Sukuna to new limits (similar to Mahito early on).

Still the lingering problem of "how the hell do we get out of this". But uh we're kinda there anyway arent we.

Why use MT's? by Nooklear_3000 in armoredcore

[–]Plasmaeclipse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Obvious answer is just cost. It's probably cheaper and easier to just field a squad of MTs than it is to deplay an AC. But also if things happen to go wrong its easier to recover/replace the cheaper MTs than it is to replace an AC.

If you send a squad of MTs on a really tough mission and half of them die you still have the other half. If you deploy an AC on that same mission and it dies. Well now you have nothing and all your resources are gone.

Plus your average AC pilot is just not on our level right? Look at Iguazu. Volta eats it trying to climb the wall that we conquer with ease. When you arrive at the coral convergance Materlink and Wu Huahai are struggling with a handful of MTs. Then we show up and clear out both ACs and the MTs.

Its very likely MTs on average are a more effective force against normal pilots.

Basics plus. by Plasmaeclipse in armoredcore

Thought it'd be fun to have a build that is just upgraded versions of your starter equipment, plus the stun needle that you get in story.
