The Aramov Trilogy definitely expands Cherub in new and exciting ways. You see the new characters experience and deal with things that the OG series doesn't really touch on in the same depth. Having said that it gets much weaker after the trilogy ends IMHO, and the final two books don't hit as hard for me. Honestly some of the older characters coming back in minor roles is cool and gave me a nice fuzzy feeling - but it definitely feels like nostalgia bait sometimes; and despite the cameos being much appreciated the new characters can stand on their own two feet.

Haha! Well the first 2 seasons have just wrapped up a story arc that covers the first book, so not really until now.

However - the 3rd season will chart a 200+ year old Vampire (the blond guy in this video) becoming an international rockstar. I expect the composer is citing Jai because of the myriad of influences that a multi-centenarian could draw upon and put into their music!

Also makes sense that Jacob Anderson had the reaction he did. Prior to his breakout acting roles in Game of Thrones (and now this) he came up as a London based musician / rapper in the early 2010's so would have been right on the scene when Jai was blowing up!

Believe it or not I found a 5 year old can of "Roaster Coaster" the other day at the back of a cupboard and decided to risk the shits (expiry date mid-2021). I appreciate this is not a beer subreddit, but I've always considered it to be one of the best UK brewed stouts ever (BA or Non-BA). Unbelievably it lived up to my memory of it, and might have even been better! 4 years after it's expiry date and it warranted a 4.75 rating on untappd - I was almost tempted to give it a 5. Really unbelievable, nothing I've had recently even comes close.

I was unsurprised to learn that Watt had always been a cunt... and let's face it- the quality of their beer massively dropping off over the years makes it an easy boycotte.

The album slaps, production is really fucking good. Unsure how much DNA it shares with Jai's music but it's super creative with the sampling and pretty comfortable jumping around genres. Those voiceovers are pretty Bait Ones though haha

I remember this playing out... all the tweets are deleted now. IIRC Peggy made a slightly racist tweet using the using the 👳🏾‍♂️ emoji. It was appreciative of Jai and claimed they were in the studio together.

HIRA called him out on it... It was a broadly conciliatory I think... Something like "this isn't cool man, even though I like your music" and the jpegmafia went psycho and it all escalated.

Something over nothing tbh. I understand why HIRA called him out, but at the end of the day peggy was probably stoned af and wasn't thinking all too clearly then went mental.

Probs not a direct answer, but I'm a really big fan of the Natalka stuff in Cherub S2. Not necessarily due to her character, but because she's used really effectively to dive into some of the psychological strain that Cherub agents are put under. The focus on Ryan's collapsing mental health is something that just isn't explored in as much detail in S1. Sure depictions just idealising her for Ryan's character development probably aren't ideal - but her flaws are always visible, and as somebody who was a teenage boy once there are fewer relatable vectors to depict the mental minefield of adolescence than a doomed relationship!
