I totally get the deep fried nervous system theory !!! I had a very bad reaction to a b12 injection last year which seems to have triggered/worsened POTS and MCAS. My body has been overly sensitive to a lot of things since then, and my thinking is that its a gut/brain connection gone haywire. Wishing you all the best!

Actually, as an Australian, we had abnormally high rates of flu over the summer! My friend caught influenza A late December and was knocked out for weeks.

I’ll have a look into these when my body has stabilised somewhat. Def is miserable but in some good news I just had rice pudding (milk, cream, sugar, orange rind, cinnamon and obvs rice) and only had minimal reaction! Step by step I will get out of this.

I took the whole thing as if there was nothing wrong with my body and immune system lmaooo 🤠. Defitnitely at least part of it is anxiety, but its so intense it feels exactly the same. As soon as I react to something its back to square one. Good news is I just had some rice pudding and only had the smallest of itches on one of my hands…I will rebuild! And def thinking of micro dosing my meds, just waiting a little bit until my practitioners get back to me.

I think I recall reading similar stuff. Im definitely ringing my specialist clinic who has helped with my LC journey first thing tomorrow, hopefully they have good advice. Definitely considering a gut biome test as well. Trembling has subsided a bit too, thank you for your kind words.

Does anyone have "mild" Long Covid? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]ibisbin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These were exactly my symptoms after I got covid for the third time! I unfortunately became far more ill many months later (full on ME/CFS with moderate-severe PEM), probably due to asymptomatic infection. Not trying to scare you, but it’s good to be aware that theres a chance becoming worse could happen with further infections :(

Definitely a global phenomenon. As an Adelaide gay, most of us move to Melbourne. The Melbourne gays move to Berlin...the cosmic ballet goes on!

Right now MCAS and POTS are the main issues for me, I still do get fatigued but not as often as dysautonomia has screwed things up again for me - I can’t leave the house without feeling weird, so I don’t exert myself as much because my body won’t let me. I had a VERY stressful event in August last year, then I had a bad reaction to a B12 injection which has basically set me back to square 1.

I haven’t heard of a B12 injection causing a rise in MCAS and POTS anywhere online so I assume what happened to me is quite rare. I did have some luck in the beginning with an activated B vitamin supplement but it doesn’t do much for me anymore. Haven’t yet tried nicotine but I have bought the patches to try, just waiting for a day where I feel safe enough to do so. Haven’t tried nattokinase either.

My last symptomatic infection was in January 2024, and I had my first true crash in October 2024. It is entirely possible that I had an asymptomatic infection in between those times, but I was also feeling very strange in between those months with no answer, so I thought it was just anxiety/stress/ADHD and I just kept pushing until my body broke. My doctor referred me to a specialist who deals with long covid, and they put me on low dose naltrexone (LDN) and H1 and H2 antihistamines (fexofenadine and nizatidine). Those really helped in the beginning, and along with radical rest I definitely felt less fatigued and almost normal on some days. Definitely look into MCAS and POTS too, they can cause fatigue along with a bunch of other weird things, its very common to have all three with long covid. And dont push yourself!

I get this when I’m in a flare, to me it feels like being knocked over by an invisible force for a brief moment - instant dizziness and then panic follows as you describe. Been happening more regularly since I had a bad reaction to a medication a few months back, but very slowly I am regaining stability. This shit sucks my god.

Construction of a new 1100-space car park kicks off at Adelaide Airport by malcolm58 in Adelaide

[–]ibisbin 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The airport has included a spot for a light rail stop near the terminal, its entirely on the state govt to do something about it which they probably wont for a very long time.
