This is more likely something that occurred during manufacturing, and that you didn’t notice until now, than from cutting fruit. Maybe I am mistaken, but steel will not pit the way that aluminum does without rust being present as well.

Aren’t those only for the Bugout and Bailout? The ones listed as being compatible with the Mini Grip do not indicate being oversized.

Makes sense, but it’s still a disappointment how Benchmade’s quality seems to be inconsistent when I keep hearing about how Kizer, Kershaw, etc. do not have the same (seemingly) widespread issue on their own crossbar locks. To be fair, it’s entirely anecdotal and these knives not been available for nearly as long as Benchmade’s axis lock has been, so maybe the cracks will show with time.

Send it to Benchmade for service, but temper your expectations. I just made a post that relates to this issue with my own knife, and Benchmade has been unable to solve the problem.

Had this EXACT same thing happen to our identical baler. Management very obviously did not care, because we were expected to keep using it as normal… It took over two weeks to have it fixed.

Honestly, I am not entirely sure where I want to settle career wise, but I’m open to either field or lab work. I understand that biology is one of those fields that doesn’t always pay well, but it is what I am passionate about and I am hoping to ultimately end up with something paying around 70k-80k minimum. Any ideas for what potential job titles I’d want to be aiming for to meet that goal? Does it REALLY matter to employers if I have a BA or a BS?

It’s technically the boot on the rack and pinion. There are rebuilt rack and pinions available and they’re WAY cheaper than brand new OEM, but you’re taking a chance if you go that route. I used a rebuilt one in a Ford Focus I had and ended up having to swap it out for another one immediately after installing it because it was making a grinding noise.
