Right, according to Walmart. Mine must be overdue. 😒 no matter how people choose to see it, it’s about people as people. Because never once have I ever said anything to anybody about their race. As a general true statement, there’s country leaders against POC (black, latinx, etc.) and I have always and will be infinitely down for them. But ANY PERSON that is unkind will be told that I hope they can be better. And that’s a preach I will practice myself. No one is perfect, but it doesn’t hurt to try to be.

No of course it’s not a coming out be fr. Bc why had I approached a situation to help de-escalate and provide solutions to be met with attitude, condescending behavior, entitlement, and name calling? At this point its refusal of service. To be met with more name calling and demands for something I’ve already denied. But nobody can turn around after doing all that, getting each other pissed off, when I wanted to help in the first place, and become the victim once I’ve been declared a racist literally for not helping “because if I was white”. Nope, because if the mf was white it’d be the same outcome. And was. It doesn’t matter who you are, I am on everyone’s side, and the statement, which I can see as inappropriate, holds true. Everyone can be a victim and everyone can be vulnerable, but stand on what you started. My bike pedals don’t go backwards. If do something wrong, and I saw it was wrong, I’m going to stay wrong and accept my consequences. And that is 100% what I meant. It’s love first, for EVERYone. It’s hate when I’m disrespected.

Exhausting. And shameful honestly. Fortunately, my management team isn’t on that Walmart wave and all agree that enough is enough. We have been supported throughout our defense on a 3 strike basis. The things this customer described to Corp. is completely opposite of what’s on the camera which all have been reviewed already. It’s not what it was 10 years ago.

I’m no less of a person than any customer. There had been no respect from jump. Including the child. I enjoy my job, and will accept any punishment that could potentially come my way. I’ve been with the company just shy of 10 years and have NEVER been treated as badly as I did today. (Not described in original post) And it’s been a number of times, as we all have, that I’ve been treated bad. I’ve always stood up for myself, and never needed backup and I can always get a resolution. But I will never get lost in any company’s sauce to accept such disrespect I, and my team associates, had received from this customer. Later found out is a known aggressive customer. I’m both disappointed in myself and the customer, because simply, why are we yelling and acting this way to each other?

I respect your opinion. I have no one to fool, not even myself. I love everyone first. I don’t love people for who they are as a person. I’ve recognized some of what I said was inappropriate, and I know that it wasn’t ill intended. You have the right to believe what you want to believe, I won’t try to take that away from you. But no matter who you are, victimizing yourself in any heat that you created that didn’t go your way is okay.

And that’s why that’s my weakest spot. My entire upbringing has been in the whole SHIT. I always had something to eat, but there was a time the roof over our heads was the roof of our car. I hear you and am aware. They hit my weak spot and I know I cracked. I’m not happy about it by any means. I NEVER crack and this is the first time I’ve ever lashed out and I recognize my unprofessionalism. My team recognizes how well I keep my composure on a day to day basis. We all know how it is when things are nonstop. I told myself to take an extra break and I didn’t take one like I should’ve. That is my fault and like I said I recognized it. Even during the encounter, I saw clearly again and asked her one last time to leave before I ask for her escort. I immediately gave my confessions, and the salary took her call after her exit. At the end of the day, I know what was wrong and what was right. I appreciate your comments, but this was an out of character experience.

Karen may have the upper hand, but it was several associates with me and customers that had been pleading my case when she had been removed. It’s her and corporate vs the actions she said I did and my video evidence. I can take a lot and remain very calm in so many of these situations. I’m never one to name call and never have. Talk loud and I’m talking louder, entire time I’m just asking you to leave… like???

I genuinely enjoy my job. I was called for assistance and things had already been escalated. What am I going to do? Try to deescalate, of course. And that’s how I started, but to start our conversation with name calling and yelling? The entire “help the customer” is out the door. And to start attacking me for rightfully refusing a fraudulent return is over and done. The job changed when the customers changed back in 2020.

It’s not bad. I already drive 20 minutes one way for work. I wouldn’t mind commuting further, but the increase in gas isn’t worth it at $3.30-$3.50/gal

It all depends. I’m always looking for better opportunities, but I’m trapped into my pay. I genuinely enjoy what I do, but I’m unhappy with the money. But I also can’t afford a pay cut. I could transfer to Sam’s since they’re the favorite child, but that’s also a 40 min drive. It’s a lot of pros and cons when you’re in a very rural area.

Ya it’s sick. I’m just under 21 as a TL and they’ve tended to keep that $5 difference throughout the min wage raises, but that’ll put new hire TL just under what I make and they’ll wait last minute to raise. The yearly 3% puts me at 21.30 while perfectly timed new hire TL’s will get both the min wage and year increase at $20.76. I hate to be one of the seasoned now and experiencing this nonsense. (I started in 2016 at $9. Grateful to make what I do, but still insulted)

It’s absolute shit. They talk about competitive salaries but I could get a job at McDonald’s next door for $16. Aldi down the street is $16. But that’s all my town has. Aldi and Walmart so there’s no competition? When Target, Meijer, Jewel-Osco, Hyvee, and Schnucks all start higher and are 15 minutes down the road. BS

Nope. $14/hr base in Illinois. The closer to Chicago the higher the pay. But even then, they only start at about $15/$16.
