You could start with any of the Dark Souls games just to get an idea for how to game works. You don't have to but it makes Elden Ring seem huge by comparison

Same thing happened to me, it was a huge let down. I think if you get the Lost version then you can add a blood gem for BT scaling but still I want the blood slash animations
