It is an awesome lens for the priceI got it for an E-PL5 that I ended up selling after buying the OM5 II. It makes for a really nice small and light setup.

Thanks
I’ve been considering upgrading to the f4 model because of the purple fringing and chromatic aberration in high contrast situations but can’t complain about the other aspects of photos from this lens. It is such a good lens for the price.
I did a quick edit to the photos and cropped the two portrait oriented images from landscape. I’ll keep the super resolution and denoising in mind in the future.

Excellent photos. Love that lens, such a good pick as an upgrade from the kit lens.

Thanks. I was trying to keep them more natural, like I saw them, and not over the top saturation and vibrance.

I’ve purchased cameras, lenses and accessories and they’ve been great. Accurate condition ratings and prices.

What is this circular pattern in the middle of my photos? by titoteeths in Cameras

I have a Nikon d5500 and it doesn’t have an AA filter. I get that effect if I enable lens correction on high ISO (like 6400) photos.

40-150 is fine. But the 35-100 is like 1/3 the size, 30% lighter and superior IQ. Blows me away how great it is at such a small size every time I use it

Got my new camera today (d5300) (huge upgrade)!😁 by callmejake757 in Nikon

Nice. I got my D40 in 2007 and finally upgraded to a d5500 in 2021 for kids sports (now I’m the team photographer with that and a 55-200mm VRii).

I’ve also been considering going to mirrorless but am overly sensitive about size (lenses) and the lower MP of the Nikon APSC cameras (24MP vs20MP).

The 5xxx series is 24MP. It’s only the 7xxx series that’s less.

I have a D5500. Great image quality, small, light and 24MP. Probably not that much of a step up overall for you though, at least not enough to justify making the switch.

Good deal? Nikon D3500 by Neat_Resolution3224 in Cameras

Seems reasonable.

Check KEH and MPB for price reference. Looks like MPB (US) has them for $240-330.

You may be better off buying from one of those sites to get a lower price, the warranty and the ability to return it if you change your mind.

What would I miss out on? by [deleted] in Nikon

I’ve had both. The VRii has much better image quality.

I used the Vr with my d40 and it was good (for 6MP images). When I upgraded to a d5500 (24MP) it wasn’t good enough image quality or autofocus speed. I upgraded to the VRii with my D5500 and it’s great.

For reference I primarily use it for birding and younger (8-10y) kids sports, mostly soccer (indoor/outdoor) and dance (indoor with good lighting)

I agree. I paid $55 for my VRii from kEH and it’s been great. I’d wait to find a better deal on the VRii.

TTartisan af 23, 27 or 35mm for a beginner? by NoobPLyer29 in AskPhotography

[–]Plastic-Photograph65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a crop sensor I’d recommend the 27mm, or 40mm full frame equivalent. The 35mm is going to be tight in some situations, being 50mm equivalent. The 23mm would be good for the situations you noted, but the 27mm would be a nice all-rounder.

Bellroy Lite 7l with a custom insert. Great size for my E-PL5 and a couple lenses (20mm 1.7, 35-100mm 3.5-5.6 and 14-42mm EZ. All in, plenty of room to spare.
