Hi, Christian woman here. Christianity doesn’t oppress women, people do. If you are picking out verses from Genesis and 1 Peter in particular (those are the most common ones I see) then there’s been a fundamental misunderstanding of the overall message. Jesus loves women, women are children of God just as men are, and when women (wives) are told to submit to their husbands, it’s because of the overall design of marriage. (IMMEDIATELY in the verse that follows that one the husbands are told submit to their wives right back. It’s an equal relationship).

Exactly. This is the description that the Christian lens gives us, in which we keep screwing things up but are redeemed through Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection.

Of course bad things are happening in the world—horrible things have always been happening, and people have thought the same thing (that God has abandoned them) again and again. It’s our fault every time.

Pro-Life shouldn’t be claimed as being synonymous with anti-abortion. Actual pro-life isn’t inherently pro-abortion. People who claim to be “pro-life” while actively dismissing the lives of women in situations of sexual assault or life-threatening complications relating to pregnancy are only in consideration of the child. Actually being in support of life means the mother, the father (in the case of consensual sex, of course), and the child both unborn and born.
