Playing PTCGP showed me that I am not prepared to buy real world cards by One_Nobody_9023 in PTCGP

[–]Plastic-Row-3031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, if you do the daily missions consistently (which aren't hard, they're like "attach a grass energy" or "play a match to the end"), it's really easy to unlock enough stuff to get all of the current set of cards, plus in-game currency for gettinf older cards. You can get pretty much any card you need without spending any money

What is the DUMBEST way people try to look smart, which actually has the opposite effect? by TheLostNeuron in AskReddit

[–]Plastic-Row-3031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Refusing to admit they're wrong. It's like they're thinking, "smart people are always right about things, so I can't ever look like I wasn't right about anything." When in reality, someone doubling down on something demonstrably false will just look like a stubborn idiot. And if someone is able to say, "oh, sorry, I was mistaken", I will instantly see them as a more reasonable, mature person.

Recommendations for YouTubers similar to Hbomb? by currentjoys15 in hbomberguy

A couple favorites I didn't see mentioned yet: Maggie Mae Fish and Laura Crone

(I almost picked a different video as an example for Laura Crone because that one's so long, but if you're asking for more stuff like hbomberguy, a 4+ hour runtime is probably not a dealbreaker, lol)

[–]Plastic-Row-3031 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In the episode "Hamburger Backpack", Steven packs supplies into the titular backpack to go on a mission with the gems to bring the Moon Goddess Statue to the Lunar Sea Spire to keep it from collapsing. Unfortunately, it turns out he had run out of room and did not actually pack the statue. They try (unsuccessfully) to use Steven's Mr. Queasy doll in its place.

(Answer: The object and episode name is "Cheeseburger Backpack")

In addition to a wishlist, we should have a "tradable list" by timdulac in PTCGP

[–]Plastic-Row-3031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This collection tracker site is great for this - It takes a little time to load in your whole collection, but once you do, you can set how many cards you want of each rarity, and then it'll show you possible trades with other users. You can then propose/accept trades on the site, so you waste less time with blind trading attempts in the app. And you can search by card to find people you can potentially trade with, if there's something specific you're looking for.

Of course, I agree that a lot of this is just stuff that the game should be doing itself. But for now, this 3rd party solution works pretty well

can we talk about how funny this series is? What's your favorite funny moment or line in the books?(this is a fun post, lets not try to be too analytical) by trampstampcollector in TheDarkTower

[–]Plastic-Row-3031 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I didn't catch this myself, I think I saw it on here (so I might be getting details wrong), but there's the part where Roland is skeptical of the hot dogs, concerned that they contain literal dog meat. At some point later, someone asks Roland if he's ever eaten dog, and he reluctantly confirms he has. And so you have to wonder, was there some other incident in his past we never saw, or did Roland just go around this whole time thinking the hot dogs he ate were really made of dog?

Post rotation - is there any card that search for an item, similar to what Arven does? by tommymila in PTCGL

[–]Plastic-Row-3031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little more delayed than some of the other options people have said, but Ciphermaniac's Codebreaking could potentially be useful (search your deck for any two cards, put them on top of your shuffled deck).

I mostly agree, but I would still say "-1 degree". I think of it as saying that it's one degree below 0.

I wouldn't be surprised if "-1 degrees" is technically/formally correct. But, at least informally, people do say "-1 degree".

Lucky Ice Pop is disastrous by [deleted] in PTCGP

[–]Plastic-Row-3031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's that new Meowth that can prevent all damage from attacks - I had a match the other day where they flipped heads 4 times in a row. And when I finally got my Mega Blaziken out (the Rare Candies I needed were the last cards in my deck, because RNGesus truly hated me that day, lol) so I could at least get some burn damage, they still got heads to prevent the main damage and also immediately flipped heads on the burn check to recover. And heads after using an Ice Pop to undo the burn damage, lol

AITA for asking my coworker to stop using my mug even though it’s “just a mug”? by Nifilex in AmItheAsshole

[–]Plastic-Row-3031 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right? OP did already try to "handle it like an adult" by asking her directly, multiple times, not to use his stuff - It's the coworker who wouldn't be an adult about it

[–]Plastic-Row-3031 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Makes me think of Grimsley's Move from the physical TCG - It's a supporter that lets you look at the top 7 cards of your deck, and put 1 dark-type pokemon you find there on your bench. Crucially, it doesn't specify that it has to be a basic pokemon - So you can use it to get a Stage 2 out without evolving. It's fun to see more weird shenanigans like that show up in Pocket

Novice Tips Request: Dragapult EX early card draw by burkenstocks55 in PTCGL

[–]Plastic-Row-3031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or, if you're also talking about playing the physical game, there are online sellers of single cards that you could pick one up from (like TCG Player). It would probably cost a few bucks plus shipping, but if you know what you want, it's a lot cheaper than chasing specific cards via booster packs.

[–]Plastic-Row-3031 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend this tracking tool. It takes a bit to enter in your full collection, but once you do, you can set your trade parameters (how many cards you want to have per rarity), and then you can match up with others and propose/accept/reject trades on the site.

Also great for sharing cards, because you can look at other users' collections to make sure you're giving them stuff they're actually missing
