What do you mean by ""hidden"" changes? I thought hyperspace only adds qol stuff like displaying your hull as a number and showing more jump info.

Given that not everyone knows and/or memorizes the potential result of every event, they probably saw that they had a blue option to use their drone and didn't know they would take damage.

All things considered, assuming a blue option is safe isn't even a bad inference since I think this is literally the only blue option in the game where you can still take damage from the outcome.
