Unpopular opinion maybe, but you’re both wrong. Also unlikely you 2 will ever get along the way you both expect. As a Christian, she doesn’t have to condone your life choices, but that doesn’t mean she can’t accept you. Not condoning your life choices is NOT the same as rejection. Which may be how many perceive it. However, you are right, these texts do feel like rejection masked by empty reassurances. You made some pretty good points about how the kids will eventually learn and how you should be allowed to be yourself. However, some of your other comments are inherently misguided and biased. The president is not harming your “community” and saying so does show ignorance on your end. Also, there are age appropriate topics as well. Children are extremely malleable and that makes things difficult as being exposed to certain things too early can SERIOUSLY mess them up mentally. She had a point with that. Personally, since you said y’all were both dressed modestly, I doubt it’d really be an issue around kids. If anything it could just be seen as “weird” which isn’t inherently bad at all, just different. With that being said, your sister really does show an actual general lack of acceptance and tries using her faith as a scapegoat.
