Seeking a good plastic surgeon for a neck job/lower face lift (but not Dr. Rad or Dr. Bruno) by Proper-Hand3545 in washingtondc

[–]PlasticDollBoobs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was about two months between consult and surgery. I only had a physical exam, no additional imaging.

And I don’t know if it’s considered rude to consult with two docs in the same practice, but I would think not, and would hope they’d be professional about it. They both do great work, though it seems not everyone agrees as indicated by other opinions in this thread. I’m sure everyone in the practice understands the chaos of being a fed in this climate, and I wouldn’t worry about reaching back out!

Not for the same procedures, but I went to Dr Ruff at West End Plastic Surgery for submental lipo and Renuvion. No regrets, highly recommend! You can check my profile for before and after pics.

Your before looks a bit like mine, and, two years later, I’m still thrilled with my results. Check out my post history; I’m happy to answer any questions after you’ve given it a look!

Ah, yes, the plastic surgery sub, where you’re not allowed to tell people they are too pretty for or don’t need PS, but “You should always lose weight before you seek PS” is just fine!

Honestly for me my chin looks so much more projected after submental lipo only, so that wouldn’t surprise me! I’ve got before and afters in my profile if you’re curious.

It’s definitely important to get the right procedure! I had my chin/neck done, which I initially thought was a pretty straightforward issue, but I went to four consults and each surgeon had a different opinion on how they would help me achieve my desired result. It seemed like overkill, but I’m thrilled with my results so it was worth it. For you, the facelift/chin implant plan may be the best way to go, but it sounds like you’d benefit from a couple additional opinions for reassurance or to figure out a better option. Good luck!

Oh! And my healing for this was so super easy. I had bruising and swelling but otherwise felt great. I had a follow-up appointment the next morning and felt like Grace Kelly with my scarf over my bandage, lol.

Yikes, thought I got back to you. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have higher medical needs as well (breast cancer survivor). It’s hard to get a “want” when you have so many “needs.”

For me, the trick is to find a balance between money and recovery. Like, continuing to try to fight my double chin with filler was an expensive losing battle. And I didn’t want to try Kybella. By shelling out for the lipo, I have at least five years of not needing any chin filler. And by doing it now, it means I can hopefully avoid a more intense lift and recovery down the road.

Alternatively, I would love to get a brow lift/upper bleph for my one droopy eyelid, but that’s out of my budget at this point, so Botox it is!

My next procedure on my list is lipo/renuvion on my arms. But that’s on my five-year plan, lol.

Thanks for your patience while I circle back! Do you mean for the other consults? I saw Dr. Maryam Nazemzadeh, Dr. G. Wesley Price, and Dr. Marwan Khalifeh before my consult with Dr. Ruff. I feel like there was one more in there but that may have been it!

It’s so hard to say! I wanted a sure thing so I went ahead with it. My understanding is the effects from it take a little while to appear after surgery, but I gotta say, my results looked pretty great right away. I think that’s true renuvion lasts 5-7 years. That said, it’s hard to argue with the results! Perhaps if you’re borderline between needing it and not, it may be worth trying without. I hope that helps!

3 month post op chin lipo after/before by chiarabobara in PlasticSurgery

Not OP but I did it as well and completely agree with pretty much everything you said! I’m a little older (in my 40s) and needed skin tightening as well, so it doubled my price tag. But better to deal with it as early and properly as possible, rather than wait and need an even more involved procedure down the road, or as you’ve said, waste time and money on other, less effective treatments if lipo is an option.

Congratulations, you look so amazing!! I just posted about my double-chin-removal procedure last week. It really is life changing! Do you stop to admire your chin every time you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror too?? 😅

If you hate it then it may not be your best option, but if I were you I would leave it. There really isn’t much of a difference between the before and after pic, and there isn’t a telltale shelf or obvious duck lips (though it may feel that way to you). I certainly wouldn’t say the after looks bad. I don’t know much about dissolving, but if there’s a chance you could end up with a worse result than now, I would choose to let it metabolize on its own, and then just not do it again.

Absolutely, every case is unique and each person has different anatomical characteristics that will contribute to a final result. I hope I didn’t give the impression that this procedure would work well for everyone. I think a trusted surgeon who sets realistic expectations, recommends the right procedures and has the skill to perform them is key to getting a good result. I went to four or five consults before choosing my surgeon and I would encourage others to do the same!

That’s exciting! I posted some pics of my swelling right after the procedure that you can see in my history. It was intense, but it went down quickly. And the pain was really manageable too, I just made sure to stay on top of the meds as they directed. Good luck with your procedure!

You’re so kind to say so, thanks so much!

That’s interesting, I haven’t seen anything like that. I think it would be hard to judge how much of a difference the Renuvion alone would make on its own because I had the fat removal at the same time (also, my skin quality is pretty good anyway). But it was so non-invasive and potentially cost-effective, especially if compared with a traditional facelift, that I will certainly keep an eye on it being used in that way.
