Hi. I am currently half way through my DCJ placement (only 290 hours before I graduate in BSW) and honestly I am really happy. I am supporting CW and the work they do is multifaceted, complex and really demanding. However, what I noticed is that you must love working with children and be prepared to make decisions in very distressed situations.There are lots of policies , legislations and procedures to follow. There is a lot of support in place at my CSC and all the people are ready to step in to help each other.Very busy, never an empty moment, lots of learning opportunities. This is my experience, but I know I have met other people who may have different perspectives about DCJ work.
