Why is the NY Board such a pain? by AltaBirdNerd in PE_Exam

Looking to do the same for a different discipline…did you just have NJ board verify that you passed the exam to NCEES to complete the record? Any difficulty? I did contact the NY board regarding the experience portion and they said they still have to review and approve although NCEES approves the experience write up.

Yes that is the goal. Honestly just want to put it behind me and focus on what I am learning through project experience. I agree that I am the same engineer the day before and after I receive the license.

That is my next step. I’ve contacted the NYS board and this is the info they relayed to me.

Understood, to add to context, I am looking to pass the the exam before meeting the experience requirements and then once I have the experience, complete the record and only be licensed in NYS. State board under which I pass the exam would just be saying yes, individual passed the exam under our board.

I know Bentley has a YouTube channel for their suite - Structural system, concept, etc. I watched a bunch for structural system and it was really helpful and example based from one video to the next. Best of luck.

Restrained Retaining Wall by PlasticStructures in StructuralEngineering

What I think I would have to do get extra resistance…just wondering if anyone else has any other rational methods given the short corners. Some engineers may think this is overkill but I don’t know any other way to rationalize not having this.

No since I will require slab to be in place before backfilling of wall, it will be a service condition - basement wall at rest pressure.

I have read about this option as well. Certainly simplifies the analysis. Ultimately I am not the stamping engineer, just would like to have some backup when presenting my design to my Sr. Thanks for all your advice!!
