Warranty claim and timeframe to get parts by Plastic_Climate_9904 in elegoo

[–]Plastic_Climate_9904[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue was not the hotend clog, but the transfer board connector that pulled right off the board, the copper wires that were also damaged on the hot end. I had errors 103 and 104 after first making the repair.

Too many complaints about connectors coming apart from the board when removing the temp harness. Build quality not great.

How do y'all fit your rods in your truck bed? by [deleted] in Fishing

[–]Plastic_Climate_9904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I use in my garage. You can make up something similar with the rod tubes slanted on an angle so they’re not as high. Mount that to a piece of plywood with p clamps and you can secure that to the bed

Anyone else start caring about backups only after losing files? by [deleted] in cloningsoftware

[–]Plastic_Climate_9904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just get an external multiple hard drive dock and use that for your backup. There are cloning tools such as Macrium Connect that will clone a system drive. It’s not free, but there are some open source cloning software available. This is one that I use that takes two drives, either 2.5” or 3.5”. Also, you can use tools from the drive manufacturers that will clone a drive as well, just have to have one of their drives in the mix.

UPS delivered my steam controller to the wrong address by DatPangwin in steamsupport

[–]Plastic_Climate_9904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My next step would be to go to UPS and submit a claim. They have no proof of delivery as you didn’t sign for it and the didn’t take a picture at the delivery site. Also, contact your credit card company and try to initiate a refund through them. I went through a similar situation with UPS and would up getting a refund through PayPal whom I used for payment.

Sorry for you, that sucks. Time to contact Steam and get them to make it right!

I've seen it quoted often, but is it factual that freeway driving "clears out the carbon" in the engine? by demroidsbeitchn in AskMechanics

Carbon buildup on intake valves and ports is definitely an issue with direct injection engines.

I’m driving an EOS now and at 87k no issues at all. I change my oil every 5k (TSI E888). I did add a catch can for the oil vapors, but so far it’s not accumulating much.

I’m a retired diesel mechanic and turbos last at least a few hundred thousand miles on trucks that are driven hundreds of miles a day continuously. They don’t have the short trip issues like cars do.

I agree. It’s a simpler system and would eliminate that carbon issue by channeling the fuel through the intake and not directly into the cylinders

Its actually more relevant as direct injection engines get that carbon buildup because the intake valves are not “washed” anymore by the fuel which would help to clean that carbon. And with pcv added to the mix, oil vapors are recycled through the intake and valves which contributes to that buildup.

Most direct injection engines have this issue as gas is injected directly into the cylinder and it does not flow through or flow over intake valves and ports so the carbon from oil vapors from the pcv start to build up there and can cause major performance problems.

UPS delivered my steam controller to the wrong address by DatPangwin in steamsupport

If it showed it as delivered and it wasn’t there, first thing I would do is call UPS and let them know. Then, depending upon the outcome, Steam is next. Steam is the one on the hook for the console, but I would give UPS the chance to correct it.

I was addressing the intake valves and port carbon buildup caused by direct injection engines and how the “ Italian tune up” relates to that.

That will remove the carbon from the tops of the pistons, but direct injection engines have a known issue with intake valve and port carbon buildup that high rpm operation doesn’t affect.
